Take pleasure in snorkeling at Silfra with your own personal guide. The temperature of the Silfra Fissure ranges between 2-4 degrees. You get to pick either a drysuit or a wetsuit for an immersive Viking experience. We will be in the pristine water for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. A wetsuit provides more flexibility and enables you to dive, whereas a drysuit offers warmth as you gently drift down the crevice between continents.
- All participants must know how to swim and be comfortable in water
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting, especially around the neck and wrists
- Minimum age is 12 years, please reach out regarding younger participants & Participants over the age of 65 need to get a physicians approval.
- Be at minimum 150cm (4’9) tall / maximum 200cm (6’7) tall, and be at minimum 50kg (99 lbs) / maximum 120kg (264 lbs)
- Don’t wear glasses, instead bring contact lenses or your own prescription mask (if you have one)
- Recommended to bring a change of clothes (the drysuit has a very small chance of leaking)
- We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks a a base layer under the drysuit
- All participants heights, weights and age must be provided to local operator. If you do not provide at time of booking, please contact supplier immediately after booking to provide this information
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. Please find a link to the medical statement on your ticket voucher right after booking the experience to be sure if you qualify.
- Please dress according to weather - no heals or jeans
- Note: Each guide can assist one group of up to six participants at a time. Up to three different groups can be present during this activity.

Please park your car at “Thingvellir P5” and walk 400m back along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel and dive. Please be there, ready to meet your guide 15 minutes before your tour is due to begin.

Loved it. - Wilmar was great. Funny and interesting! We really enjoyed doing something so different. Also, having time to walk up to the original parliament was great (not part of the tour).

Snorkelling between tectonic plates - Doris was very friendly straight forward and kind she explained everything in detail and when people didn’t understand she took her time to explain it again! Enjoy your beer!

Superb snorkel - We were nervous about the snorkel but really wanted to do it. Getting readiness hard work but Dori our guide took time getting us ready and made sure we were comfortable and prepared. It was very cold! Once we got in the water all the nerves disappeared and it took my breath away. It was cold but the view in the water took my mind off it.
Dori was a great guide, really friendly and explained everything clearly and we felt safe. It was an amazing experience that we all loved. Don’t be nervous just do it! Something I’ll never forget. Thank you Dori and Adventure Vikings.

Silfra fissure snorkelling with adventure vikings - I went on a solo tour with we road and did the snorkeling at silfra fissure which was an amazing experience. We had Dora as a guide and she was spot on healed the less confident in the group to feel safe and enjoy the experience would recommend this to anyone.
