This Eco-friendly tour delivers on so many levels - This tour was the perfect full-day family experience, with our generous local guide, Sigfus.
From the geothermal power plant to gushing geysers and on to stunning waterfalls. Ancient turf churches, hidden tunnels, and modern stain glass windows. We covered so many beautiful sights.
Sigfus is not only knowledgeable about Iceland’s history but is also a talented photographer. He captured some great family photos along the way!
The meal at the Fridheimar Tomato Farm was amazing and it was a bonus to finish off the day with ice cream on a dairy farm, while watching the cows feeding in the barn.
This tour will tick all the boxes and more!

HIRE THOMAS AT EV TRAVEL FOR (AT LEAST) A FULL DAY TOUR & DON'T MISS FLYOVER ICELAND. - Thomas of EV Travel took us on a full day private eco tour the next to last Saturday in June 2025. He picked us up at 9:00 at our hotel (Reykjavik Edition) and asked if we would like to visit the geothermal exhibition which was first up on the list. It is just outside of Reykjavik and we agreed that we would like to see it. (He clearly gives options of whatever you might like to do among his various itinerary items. He was very knowledgeable and explained all aspects of the geothermal plant to us. He actually gave us a lot of information about Iceland during our day with him as well.) From the geothermal plant we visited two churches that are side by side in the first capital of Iceland (whose name I can't remember). One church was clearly very old and it was covered in mud and grass for warmth. It was surprisingly clean and modern looking inside. The other was a traditional church where someone happened to be playing the organ when we stepped inside, which was a nice plus. We also visited the Kerid crater and could have hiked around or down into it but, we are in our late 70's and opted to just view it from the top. We had a delicious cheese platter and tomato soup lunch (and treated Thomas to lunch with us as well). Lunch was at a sustainable farm where they grew the tomatoes on giant vines that were planted in very compact containers inside large greenhouses. We likewise viewed the Gullfoss waterfall, but could have taken a trail to a closer view of the waterfall had we wished. Thomas does not rush to get through the day and in fact as we drove back into the city, he asked if there was anywhere we needed to stop before he dropped us back at our hotel. He is a delightful guide and really knows Iceland. He has a beautiful black EV Mercedes that is quite comfortable. At lunch we learned a bit about his many travels. He is trim and clearly is an outdoorsman. He could take anyone on a more challenging day, but this was just what the doctor ordered for my husband and me. We felt we saw what we came to see in Iceland. One other note - don't miss Flyover Iceland. It is surprisingly AMAZING and I, personally, am afraid of heights but this wasn't scarry. It was just beautiful! SO, IF YOU GO TO ICELAND, HIRE THOMAS AT EV TRAVEL FOR AT LEAST A DAY AND GO SEE FLYOVER ICELAND.

Excellent Golden Circle experience with a personal touch - Thomas was a wonderful guide and host. Prior to the trip he was very communicative and responded quickly to any questions. On the day of the trip, Thomas was on time to pick us up, the vehicle was clean and comfortable and was stocked with water and light snacks which was appreciated. Thomas was very knowledgeable and provided helpful information about Icelandic culture, geography, history, etc. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to cover a lot of ground and learn about Iceland.

Excellent Tour with a Great Guide! - Excellent Tour with a Great Guide!
Had a wonderful Golden Circle tour with Kat. She's incredibly knowledgeable about Iceland and showed us both the main sights and some less touristy spots. The comfortable vehicle and provided snacks were nice touches. We had a lovely lunch stop at a tomato farm, which was a unique addition to the day.
Kat’s friendly approach and expertise made the whole experience memorable. A great way to see the Golden Circle if you want something beyond the standard tourist route.

Privat Golden Circle tour - Without a doubt, EV Travel is the company you want to use for Reykjavik tours. Thomas's delivery is articulate and engaging. He adapts the tour to include your interests. The vehicle was immaculate with many amenities such as cookies, water, lap blanket, umbrellas, etc. Our 9 hour tour was a delight and we felt satisfied that we left with a plethora of good information and memories of Iceland.

Fascinating tours with Expert Guide - The tour of the Golden Circle was wonderful and full of amazing sights and fascinating information. Thomas has great expertise in geology and geothermal energy. He knew the best routes and timing for popular tourist spots and took us to several out-of-the-way places that we would never have known. We took a second tour of the volcanic eruption sites that was safe and awe-inspiring. Thomas was friendly and professional. He checked on our interests and our activity levels to customize the tours. The EV van is extremely comfortable and a great way to see Iceland.

Ever again - We have been "flooded" with informations, starting from technical aspects like washing clothes in the old times with natural hot water via geological structures and tomato planting to the hart of the Icelandic parliamentary system. And not to forget the photo and cultural stops at places we would never find ourselves (or we never thought about) and all the useful information given to us. Thomas knew his way through Iceland and the culture, which was amazing since he is British...

EV Travel is a great company with reasonable prices and wonderful people who know Iceland! - We thoroughly enjoyed our full day Golden Circle Tour with EV tours. Our driver was Dan, who was an efficient driver and quite congenial, but mostly got us from one place to the next without issue. It was nice that he is from the US and is now an Icelander. We started at the Geothermal Plant in a driving rain with strong winds and he did the best to get us from the comfort of our vehicle to the interior of the plant.
The next stop was the Kerið crater, where the wind continued to blow and the rain (thankfully) died down somewhat. Again, Dan did a nice job of getting us there and we thoroughly enjoyed walking around. We continued our tour and were brought to the Tomato Farm and ate at the wine bar there (as opposed to the regular restaurant) as Thomas Warner, who arranged our tour, said they would be able to accommodate our dietary needs more easily. He was not mistaken! We had huge salads for our lunch and gorgeous strawberries for dessert! It was nice of him to think about what our needs were. (Also, in the car, we had fruit instead of chocolates (again due to dietary needs.))
We continued along to the Geysir Hot springs, Gullfoss Waterfall, and concluded at the National Park. It was a full day and a long day, but at no time did Dan rush us along or impose his agenda on to us. He was gracious and courteous and quite accommodating.
I think the value of this tour is fantastic and the sites (and sights) themselves were mind-bogglingly beautiful and fascinating! EV tours is a wonderful company. The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is that Dan was more of a driver than a guide. But still, he did that job extremely well!
