St. John The Baptist Church - The tour continues to St. John’s Basilica and the shrine of the Virgin Mary, where St. John fulfilled his promise to Jesus to care for Mary, and from where it is believed she ascended to heaven.
Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - The visit to St. John’s Basilica and the shrine of the Virgin Mary continues, highlighting St. John’s commitment to Jesus to safeguard Mary, and the site believed to be her heavenly ascension.
Laodicea - After lunch, the journey proceeds to Laodicea, another of the Seven Churches, visited twice by St. Paul. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Pamukkale.
Day 2 – Hierapolis, Pamukkale, Sardis, Philadelphia, Thyatira
Hierapolis & Pamukkale - The day begins with a visit to the ancient spa city of Hierapolis, associated with Philip the Evangelist. Guests will then relax at the stunning white calcium terraces of Pamukkale.
Sardis (Sardes) - In the youngest of the “Seven Churches of Revelation,” visitors will explore the remnants of its early Christian church and enduring city walls. The tour also includes the ancient Lydian capital of Sardis and its renowned church ruins, another of the “Seven Churches.”
Pergamon Theatre - The journey continues to Thyatira and then to ancient Pergamum for an overnight stay.
Day 3 – Pergamon, Izmir
Pergamon Theatre - After breakfast, the tour heads to Pergamum (Bergama), described by St. John as the location of “Satan’s throne.” The sightseeing includes the Church of Pergamum, the Red-Court, and the Acropolis.
Agora Open Air Museum - Post-lunch, the tour travels to Izmir (Smyrna), a city commended by St. Paul for the faithfulness of its early believers. The itinerary includes a visit to St. Polycarp Church and a brief city tour, followed by a transfer to the airport for departure or to extend the journey with additional short stay packages or escorted tours.
