Jeongbang Waterfall - 정방폭포 (Jeongbang Falls)
Jeongbang Falls is one of the top three waterfalls on Jejudo Island, alongside Cheonjiyeon Falls and Cheonjeyeon Falls. It is unique in Korea as the only waterfall where water cascades directly into the sea. Standing 23 meters tall, the two streams of water tumbling down the dark cliff create a thrilling sound and a stunning view. Additionally, the steep cliffs and ancient pine trees surrounding the falls offer a picturesque scene, recognized as one of the Ten Scenic Sights of Yeongju, known as “Jeongbanghapok.” Legend has it that the words ‘Seobulgwacha’ are inscribed on the cliffs of Jeongbang Falls. According to folklore, a man named Seobul visited the island in search of an elixir plant on the orders of China’s Qin Shi Huangdi long ago. Failing to find the plant, he headed west to return to China but was so captivated by the sight of Jeongbang Falls that he inscribed “Seobulgwacha” on the cliff. -
Oedolgae - 외돌개 (Oedolgae)
Oedolgae, the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7, is a stone pillar rising 20 meters high from the sea. Standing alone in the sea, it is named ‘Oedolgae’. It is also referred to as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’. There is a tale that General Choi Yeong decorated this rock like a general during a battle against the Yuan Dynasty, causing the enemy to self-destruct. For the origin of the name ‘Grandma Rock’, refer to the legend below. Not only are the visible rocks fascinating, but the life of Jeju people waiting for the sea’s bounty can also be observed.
These stone pillars are believed to have formed during a volcanic eruption. A chimney-shaped stone pillar, where surrounding rocks are eroded by waves leaving only the strong rocks, is scientifically termed a sea stack. Pine trees naturally grow atop Oedolgae, adding to its picturesque charm. -
Cheonjeyeon Falls - 천제연폭포 (Cheonjeyeonpokpo Falls)
Cheonjeyeonpokpo Falls, a three-tiered waterfall, is another must-see attraction in Seogwipo. While the first section of the waterfall flows only after rain, the second and third sections are active year-round. -
Yongmeori Coast - 용머리해안 (Yongmeori Coast)
The Yongmeori Coast is named for its resemblance to a dragon diving into the ocean with its head raised (“Yong” means dragon and “Meori” means head in Korean). Yongmeori is a sandstone bed formed by layers of sand deposited over tens of millions of years. The coast’s mysterious scenery is awe-inspiring. At the base of the coast is a Hamel Monument, established by the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Korean Foundation on April 1st, 1980, to strengthen diplomatic ties between Korea and the Netherlands and to honor the dedication and efforts of Hendrick Hamel. - O’sulloc Tea Museum - Osulloc Tea Museum, located next to the Seogwang tea field in Jeju, is Korea’s first tea museum, opened in 2001 by AMOREPACIFIC to introduce and promote tea and Korean traditional tea culture. It is a cultural space that blends East and West, tradition and modernity, and includes a tea museum, a nature-friendly rest area, and a cafe where visitors can enjoy delicious and diverse tea-based menus.
