- Oedolgae - Oedolgae marks the beginning of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7 and is a striking stone pillar that rises 20 meters from the sea. Standing solitary in the water, it earned the name ‘Oedolgae’. It is also known as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’. Legend has it that General Choi Yeong adorned this rock to resemble a general during a battle against the Yuan Dynasty, causing the enemy to self-destruct. For the story behind the name ‘Grandma Rock’, refer to the legend below. Beyond the visible rocks, one can also witness the life of Jeju residents awaiting the return of seafarers. These stone pillars are thought to have formed during a volcanic eruption. Scientifically, a chimney-shaped stone pillar, where surrounding rocks are eroded by waves leaving only the resilient rocks, is termed a sea stack.
- Jeongbang Waterfall - Seogwipo, encompassing the entire southern half of Jeju, enjoys abundant sunshine and warm temperatures, drawing tourists year-round. A popular attraction is Jeongbangpokpo Falls, one of Jeju Island’s top three waterfalls. The water cascades 23 meters directly off the cliff into a pool before flowing to the sea. Behind Jeongbangpokpo Falls is Waljong Art Gallery, dedicated to Korean artist Lee Wal Jong, who settled in Jeju decades ago. The gallery showcases his inspiring artworks, capturing Jeju’s beauty in his unique style. Its strategic location and glass-walled second floor offer visitors a stunning sea view.
- Segowipo Maeil Olle Market - Seogwipo Olle Market is the largest market in Seogwipo-si and a traditional market that emerged spontaneously in the early 1960s. Beginning with a 120-meter arcade in 2001, a total of 620 meters of arcades have been installed, playing a pivotal role in Seogwipo’s economy. The parking lot offers maximum convenience with a 1-hour free parking system and a delivery service that transports goods to the desired location for free, benefiting customers who shop at the market. It also features an outdoor performance hall and a park with a fountain for future potential customers, particularly teenagers.
- Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff - The columnar joints near the coast in the eastern Jungmun Tourist Complex, where waves crash against dark red hexagonal stones forming tall layers, are considered a natural wonder and were designated as Natural Monument No. 443 (12/27/04). Standing before the joints, one can see waves striking the stones and breaking into white bubbles, evoking the poignant stories of stone carvers. The scenery is breathtaking, especially when turbulent waves reach heights of about 20 meters. The site is increasingly popular with tourists who enjoy the stunning views and the fresh sea breeze.
- Yongmeori Coast - Yongmeori Coast derives its name from its resemblance to a dragon diving into the ocean with its head raised (‘Yong’ means dragon and ‘Meori’ means head in Korean). Yongmeori is a sandstone bed formed by layers of sand deposited over tens of millions of years. The coast’s mysterious scenery is awe-inspiring. At the coast’s base is a Hamel Monument, established by the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Korean Foundation on April 1st, 1980, to strengthen diplomatic ties between Korea and the Netherlands and to honor Hendrick Hamel’s dedication and efforts.
- O’sulloc Tea Museum - Osulloc Tea Museum, located near the Seogwang tea field in Jeju, is Korea’s first tea museum, opened in 2001 by AMOREPACIFIC to promote tea and Korean traditional tea culture. It is a cultural space that blends East and West, tradition and modernity, and includes a tea museum, a nature-friendly rest area, and a cafe offering delicious and diverse tea-based menus.
- Sagyehang Bangpaje - A small yet beautiful beach situated in southern Jeju. It is a renowned spot for photography, offering stunning views of the sea from a geologically significant rock. On clear days, visitors can observe the work of female divers.
