Gwongeumseong Fortress - Explore the ruins of Gwongeumseong Fortress, also known as Onggeumsan Mountain Castle or Toto Castle, located on the steep Dolsan Mountain in the Seoraksan Sogongwon area. Believed to have been constructed by King Gojong during the Goryeo Period (918-1392), it is also referred to as Gwon-Kim Castle, named after two generals who, according to legend, built it to avoid war.

Sinheungsa Temple - Originally founded as Hyangseongsa Temple by Buddhist monk Jajang during Queen Jindeok’s reign in the Silla dynasty, Sinheungsa Temple was rebuilt at its current location during King Injo’s reign in the Joseon dynasty after several fires. Legend has it that monks Yeongseo, Hyewon, and Yeonok dreamt of a white-haired heavenly man who guided them to the temple’s location, leading to its reconstruction and renaming as “Sinheungsa,” meaning “the temple blessed by God and prospered.”
