- Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park - The tour starts with visits to the Freedom Bridge, Underground Bunker, Monument of US Forces, Memorial Hall, Peace Bell, and more.
Imjingak is a park situated on the banks of the Imjin River along the former Gyeongui Train Line outside Paju City. The park features numerous statues and monuments related to the Korean War. Imjingak is home to the “Freedom Bridge,” a former railroad bridge used by repatriated POWs and soldiers returning from the North.
The Monument to US Forces in the Korean War was erected by the South Korean Ministry of Defense to honor the noble sacrifices and achievements of US troops, commemorating the 37,000 Americans who died and the 8,100 MIAs and POWs who gave their all in defense of the Korean people.
- Tongildaegyo Bridge North Gate - It takes 10 minutes to reach the Tongildaegyo Bridge, where there is a 10-minute stop for passport checks.
The checkpoint is located on the Tongildaegyo (Unification) Bridge, where South Korean soldiers will check passports on the bus.
Say “Kimchi” with a smile; it might help speed up the passport checking process :)
- The Third Tunnel - It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the 3rd Tunnel, with a 70-minute stay.
Once passports are checked by Korean soldiers, the tour proceeds to the 3rd Tunnel to watch a documentary film and explore the tunnel.
Discovered by South Korea in 1978, the 3rd Tunnel is over 1,635m long, 2m wide, and 2m high, located 52km from Seoul. It is estimated that around 30,000 armed soldiers could pass through the tunnel per hour. It is believed that North Korea has dug 20 tunnels with the intent of invading South Korea.
- Dora Observatory - It takes approximately 10 minutes to reach Dora Observatory, with a 30-minute stay.
Visitors can observe the North Korean city of Gaesung, the third-largest city in North Korea, along with statues of the founder of North Korea and his son. The view includes North Korean villages, the Gaesung Industrial Complex (factories built by South Korean corporations), and local villagers.
- Tongilchon-gil - It takes 10 minutes to reach the village, with a 15-minute stay.
Tongilchon (Unification) Village is a residential area located within the civilian off-limits area. Around 500 South Korean farmers cultivate high-quality Ginseng, known as Gaesung Ginseng, along with soybeans, vegetables, and more. There may be a brief stop at a local supermarket and restroom before returning to Seoul.
