- Cheonggyecheon Stream - Between July 2003 and September 2005, Cheonggyecheon experienced a remarkable transformation. A significant restoration project rejuvenated a 5.84 km stretch around the covered Cheonggyecheon-ro and Samil-ro, adding 22 bridges and converting the area into a serene urban retreat for residents.
Centered around Cheonggye Plaza, the area now acts as a cultural hub, hosting a variety of events and festivals. In recent years, it has also thrived as an artistic space. At creative venues like Gwanggyo Gallery and Cheonggye Creative Studio, visitors can enjoy the work of talented artists, while street performers infuse vibrant energy into the area on weekends.
Cheonggyecheon’s transformation is ongoing, continuing to develop as a dynamic cultural and artistic landmark.
- Dongdaemun Gate (Heunginjimun) - Situated in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Heunginjimun Park offers diverse scenic views throughout the seasons. A trail along the fortress wall leads to a vantage point overlooking Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun). It connects to Naksan Park and the Seoul Fortress Trail, with gentle slopes making it an accessible walking route for all ages. Visitors can also explore the Hanyangdoseong Museum within the park to learn about the history of the fortress walls.
While beautiful during the day, Heunginjimun Park is particularly renowned for its nighttime views. The neon lights of DDP, surrounding buildings, and Dongdaemun shopping centers blend with the illuminated fortress walls, creating a vibrant panorama of Seoul. It is a unique place where cultural heritage coexists with modern city life, offering a breathtaking view that showcases both Korea’s rich history and rapid development.

Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) - A Masterpiece of Korea’s Cutting-Edge Engineering, the World’s Largest 3D Free-Form Architecture
The creation and installation of 45,133 uniquely shaped exterior panels—DDP is a structure with no straight lines or separate walls, both inside and out.
Designed by the renowned British architect Zaha Hadid, DDP flows seamlessly like water, unlike conventional buildings that stand in contrast to one another. Here, spaces are not divided; the roof becomes the wall, and the wall transforms into the roof. Open spaces blend harmoniously, creating a dynamic and interconnected environment—an architectural “metonymic landscape” where movement and coexistence shape the experience.

N Seoul Tower - Romantic island within the city, N SEOUL TOWER
The N SEOUL TOWER, a complex cultural space in Seoul, is where the clouds seem to meet with Namsan Mountain. It offers visitors the harmony of Namsan’s nature, the 21st-century state of the art, leisure, and various cultures.
The N SEOUL TOWER, now a symbol of Seoul, was established at the highest point to offer the most beautiful views of Seoul. It is also Korea’s first general radio wave tower from 1969, delivering TV and radio broadcasting in the metropolitan area.
Since the N SEOUL TOWER was opened to the public in 1980, it has become a resting place for the citizens of Seoul as well as a tourist attraction for foreigners with the living nature of Namsan.
With the latest LED technology lighting that constantly changes colors and patterns, it has become a ‘light art’ providing various media art together with an unusual cultural art experience. -
Seoullo 7017 - Seoullo 7017: A City Regeneration Project Transforming a Highway into a Walkway
Seoullo 7017 is an urban regeneration project that transformed an overpass, originally built for cars in 1970, into a pedestrian-friendly walkway in 2017. The Seoul Station Overpass, which connected the eastern and western parts of the city for 45 years, was deemed structurally unsafe with a safety rating of D in 2015 and faced demolition. However, it was reborn as Seoullo 7017, offering citizens a vibrant green space and the joy of walking in the heart of the city.
The name 7017 reflects its history—built in 1970 and reborn in 2017—while also symbolizing the 17 pedestrian pathways it connects. Now transformed into a lush green walkway filled with a variety of flowers and trees, Seoullo 7017 serves as both an urban oasis and a bridge between neighborhoods. Enjoy Seoul’s history, culture, and nature along this unique elevated walkway!
