Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar / Airport Pick-Up
Chinggis Khaan International Airport - Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed at the airport and transported directly to your hotel in the city. Today is dedicated to settling in after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax or take a brief stroll around the center of Ulaanbaatar. We will provide a briefing on the upcoming days, including what to expect, what essentials to pack in your day bag, and address any questions you may have.
Day 2: Tsagaan Suvarga
Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) - Today marks the start of our desert road trip. It’s a lengthy drive (approximately 450 km), but the scenery transforms dramatically as we depart from the city. Our destination is Tsagaan Suvarga, also known as the “White Stupa.” These towering cliffs feature layers of red, orange, and white rock, sculpted over time by ancient seas and winds. The area is vast and serene, offering breathtaking views over the steppe. It feels as though you’re standing on the brink of another world.
We will spend the night nearby in a local ger camp, providing your first experience of traditional nomadic accommodation.
Day 3: Bayanzag - Land of Dinosaurs
Day 4: Khongoryn Els - The Singing Sand Dunes
Day 5: Yoliin am
Day 6: Mandalgobi Naadam
Mandalgovi - The cultural aspect of the adventure now begins. We arrive in Mandalgobi just in time for a local Naadam Festival, where you will immerse yourself in the true spirit of Mongolia.
Naadam celebrates the “Three Manly Sports”: horse racing, archery, and wrestling. You will be among the locals, witnessing the competitions, savoring festival snacks, and absorbing the vibrant energy of this nomadic tradition. It is colorful, authentic, and deeply intertwined with Mongolian identity.
