Upon reaching the stunning Tapir Mountain Reserve, participants don helmets and set off on a gentle jungle hike to the cave entrance, which takes about 30 minutes. The hike includes three stream crossings, ranging from knee to waist height, with a rope assisting the first crossing, along with opportunities to identify plants and learn about their herbal uses.

At the cave’s entrance, participants swim across a small spring-fed pool for 10-15 seconds, entering the cave’s dark underworld. This grants access to an extensive underground maze of tunnels, passageways, and chambers, culminating in the ceremonial chamber that houses stoneware, ceramics, and the renowned crystallized skeleton of the “Crystal Maiden.”
