A wonderful trip to White Villages - We had a wonderful day trip to 3 of the White villages. Since it's Fall and sunrise is after 8 am we started in the dark and got to watch the sunrise. Claudia provided us with information about the agriculture we were seeing , and history of the area and why castles/first were built high on a hill or low in a valley. First stop was Zahara a white city built on a hillside below the castle. The views were stunning. We had free time to wander around the town to take photos and get coffee. Our next stop was at Sentenil. With fascinating homes and business built into/onto the rock hill. Claudia gave us advice on the main sites, recommendations for a snack, and we were free to see the town. Last stop was Ronda, we had ample time to see the views, walk down into the gorge, get something to eat. She also provided alternate ways to view some of the town sites. Overall it was a wonderful tour. I highly recommend it over rentin a car and trying to navigate these small villages or to find parking.

Great small group option - We do not often do group tours but this small group tour was perfectly paced and gave us enough time to discover each of the villages at our own pace. At each stop we were given a brief history and advice on where to go and left to our own devices. This suited us perfectly. Claudia was an exceptional guide who was able to answer any questions and was an entertaining source of information. With only 8 people on the tour everything was well timed and ran like clockwork. Highly recommended.

Ronda and White Villages from Seville - There are no words but many words. This seemingly contradictory expression aptly captures our day-long tour of the Ronda and White villages led by masterful guide, Anja, of Anja Adventures. Our tour began with a stop to enjoy a traditional Andalusian breakfast, which consisted of locally-produced, home-made bread drizzled with olive oil, tomato sauce, and thinly sliced Iberian ham. In addition to the scrumptious breakfast, we complemented it with cafe con leche! As Anja drove us, we were awestruck by the beautiful countryside! We encourage you to take time to bask in the beauty of Southern Spain, as it stands in contrast to the beautiful buildings and monuments of Sevilla. Thereafter, we visited the picturesque village of Zahara, with its buildings adorned with white paint and reflecting some of its Moorish tapestry. From there, we made the trek to the Castle of Zahara de la Sierra. We strongly recommend that you wear very good walking/hiking shoes (no flip flops), as the ascent to the castle is slick. Anja was very clear with us and gave us the option of making the trip, as it is optional. Once we made the decision, Anja encouraged us every step of the way and took dazzling photos of us as a keepsake. The climb was somewhat challenging, but it was well worth the effort! After the castle descent, Anja drove us to our next stop of Setenil, another white village. There, we toured and ate lunch at Setenil de Las Bodegas. The lunch was exceptional! As there was so much to choose from, Anja made the recommendation for us, and she did not disappoint. We enjoyed the salad with a goat cheese dressing, fried seafood, and braised beef soaked in a wine sauce. We were refreshed with Tinto de Verano, a light, refreshing, sweet alcoholic beverage. What distinguishes this village is that some of the restaurants, residences, and shops are situated under or within the rocks! We assure you that pictures don’t capture the sheer beauty of the town!!! You must see it for yourselves! The lunch was exceptional! Once lunch ended, Anja took us to her favorite spot to take pictures. You’ll see!!! The last stop was Ronda, another gorgeous white village. While there, we strolled through Alameda de Tajo and captured scenic views of the valley and town. Like Setenil, there were restaurants constructed within the rocks. Ronda was vibrant and bustling with activity. Much like Zahara and Setenil, Ronda had souvenir shops, so avail yourselves of them. Lest we forget, there will be numerous opportunities to use toilets. We recommend using them at each stop. At Ronda, that will be the last opportunity to use toilets. This is important, because the return trip to Sevilla is lengthy. Finally, Anja was and is phenomenal!!! She poured herself into the tour so that we came away with a better and deeper appreciation of the Andalusian province and 3 very special white villages: Zahara, Setenil, and Ronda. Thank you, Anja!

Recommended tour in every sense - The tour goes through time and forms everything promised. It is an excellent option to visit in case you do not have your own locomotion. Claudia, the guide, showed a lot of cordiality, with detailed explanations, very good skill behind the wheel and gave us extra tips to know Seville. We went in a very comfortable small van (9 places) with air conditioning. I totally recommend.

Good your of villages and Ronda but take care where you have lunch - Enjoyed the tour to the white villages and Ronda with Luis but the big letdown was having lunch at the Don Miguel restaurant next to the bridge. This lunch was substandard and expensive. Great view of the bridge but a tourist trap. Ronda is very much a tourist town but there would be much better options for lunch further away from the bridge.
