A challenging hike with breathtaking views. - When they describe this excursion as strenuous, they’re not kidding! You definitely have to be fit to do this. I would also add that if you have a fear of heights, you will be even more challenged! I would caution anyone if they have a big fear of heights. Our guide was great and found easier paths for me to follow to help me get down some steep climbs. And if you go in late May, like we did, more than half of the hike is in pretty deep snow. We felt this one for a couple of days.

Amazing experience!!! - Don't hesitate and book this hike! It was an incredible expererience and the views make it all worth it! Our guide Tate was the BEST!!! She was incredibly patient ( this was our first experience hiking on ice), very skilled, super kind and motivated us the entire ride to keep pushing! By far the best tour we have ever taken! Ps... wear good snow/ thermal shoes to avoid getting your feet super cold like mine!

Phenomenal Experience! - 5 STAR! This was by far the best thing we did in Alaska! Our guide Adriana picked us up from the cruise terminal (w/ luggage) as we disembarked from our final day of the cruise and stored it for us during the tour. Following necessary gear & education we were taken by van to the Kenai Fjords National Park where we proceeded to hike straight up for the next 3-4 hours with breaks for rest, water and of course photos!!! You must bring the raingear for the glacier. We had to take an additional suitcase but was worth it. Once we got the the glacier (loved the crampons!) the views were phenomenal and besides having lunch on the glacier (because we could sit with raingear) the water from it was an exciting part. Only took half the time to come back down. We are ages 60 and 52 and not the best of shape but had been working on cardio before this trip and had invested in the best gear down to great hiking boots and poles are provided. It is a strenuous hike but highly recommend if you are able and given the chance to do it with Kenai Backcountry Adventures and Adriana who clearly loves the land and its history as it was worth every sore muscle after!

Amazing experience - Amazing experience on the glacier hike. Al was our guide and really made the experience memorable and fun. It isn't an easy hike to get there but not high difficulty either. Need to be in decent shape and able to hike on with elevation gains. Highly recommend.

Spectacular glacier hike with Al - Kenai Backcountry was very good about returning our calls and answering all questions/concerns about fitness and equipment for the hike. We had Al as our guide, and her Environmental Science degree was evident in her excellent knowledge of the plants and landscape. Her enthusiasm was infectious. It was an uphill climb and she had several scenic snack stops planned for us. The trail leading to the glacier was a steep downhill. She was a huge help to me there as well as on the glacier. I would not have been able to do the full hike without her help. Thanks Al, for a truly unforgettable experience and lunch on the glacier. We safely explored moulins and waterfalls with helmets, crampons and harness that was provided by them. She taught us how to use all the equipment. They even had poles and backpacks for our use. Highly recommend them for your next adventure.
