- Shamakhi - This is a thrilling journey for those who prefer shorter trips. The distance from Baku to Shamakhi is 122 kilometers, taking about an hour and a half. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Alpaca farm. These adorable animals were introduced to Azerbaijan not long ago, thanks to Leyla Aliyeva’s initiative. The alpacas have adapted well to Shamakhi’s environment and are now thriving in Azerbaijan. The farm offers the chance to organize a photo session.
In addition to the alpaca farm, the tour includes stops at the Diri Baba Mausoleum, near Yeddi Gumbez, and a visit to the Abgora wine restaurant, where a delightful lunch can be enjoyed.
Finally, guests will be returned to the meeting point.
- Diri Baba Mausoleum - This mausoleum is situated in a square on a glyptic cliff. The structure is two stories high and features a ligature fragment indicating the year 1402, along with part of the architect’s name – “…the son of ustad Haji” – in one of the squinches. Numerous legends and myths are associated with this site. The Diri Baba mausoleum is adorned with a mosaic and intricate ligature by a calligrapher known as “Dervish.”
- Abqora Restaurant & Wine Club - A wine club located in Meysari village.
- Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum - This cemetery is located 1.5 km south of Şamaxı, where three mausoleums from the “Yeddi Gumbaz” group remain intact. Other mausoleums in the group are partially destroyed, lacking cupolas or walls. The mausoleum dates back to the early 18th century and was constructed for the family of Mustafa Khan, the last khan of Shamakhi. The architect’s name, ustad Taghi, is known from a ligature on the mausoleum. This monument is part of the Shirvan-Absheron architectural school.
