• Sheki Khan’s Palace - This exquisite palace, built in 1762, is renowned for its vibrant murals and the stunning colored light that filters through its Shabaka (stained-glass) windows, making it Sheki’s premier attraction and one of the most iconic structures in the South Caucasus. Originally, it served as the administrative building for the Sheki Khan and was one of approximately 40 royal structures within the fortress compound, most of which are now lost.
• Sheki Karvansaray - The rapid development of trade during the Middle Ages increased the significance of caravanserais in Azerbaijan, leading to the construction of new ones. Typically, caravanserais were designed like castles with a single gate, which, when closed, rendered them impregnable during dangerous times. The “Caravanserai” historical complex in Sheki comprises two magnificent caravanserais that have survived to the present day, traditionally known as “Yukhary” and “Ashaghy” caravanserai, translating to “Upper” and “Lower” Caravanserai in English. These structures date back to the 18th-19th centuries.
