Shanghai - Huangshan (D)

Shanghai Railway Station - Discover Huangshan and its Ancient Villages over a 3-day journey via the most efficient route. Board the bullet train at 8:05 am from Shanghai to Huangshan, enjoying a 3-hour morning ride. Upon arrival at Huangshan Station, a local guide will escort you to the mountain.

Huangshan Mountain - Spend an entire day exploring the mountain. Take a cable car to the peak and marvel at Huangshan’s unique rock formations, diverse vegetation including distinctive pines, and the sea of clouds, along with the mountain’s hidden beauty. Some trees are over 200 years old. The acclaimed movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” was filmed here. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to see the bamboo sea and other locations you might recognize from the movie. Stay overnight at the peak to conserve energy for the sunrise the next morning.

Huangshan - Hongcun Village (B, L, D)

Huangshan Mountain - Rise at dawn to witness the sunrise before enjoying breakfast. Refreshing Terrace is a recommended viewing spot. Continue to explore more of Mt Huangshan’s wonders, including Lion Peak, Dawn Pavilion, Stone Monkey Watching the Sea, and various pine formations along the path. For hiking enthusiasts, the West Sea Grand Canyon offers an exhilarating route in the Huangshan area.

Tunxi-Shanghai (B, L)

Tunxi Ancient Street - Visit Tunxi Old Street, showcasing architecture from the South Song and Ming dynasties with a 300-year history. This is the ideal place to sample authentic snacks and purchase gifts for friends and family.

After lunch, take the bullet train back to Shanghai in the afternoon. Depart at 16:30 from Huangshan and arrive at Hongqiao Station at 19:00. Upon arrival at the Shanghai station, your driver will be waiting in the arrival hall to take you back to your hotel in Shanghai.

The area surrounding Huangshan is home to numerous ancient villages. Hongcun Village, with a history spanning 800 years, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and spend a night there.
