Great start - We had a great start of our vacation in Shanghai. May (our guide) showed us the best places to see and explore. If you visit Shanghai you must start with a must see & food bike tour. After that trip we knew were to go and what not to miss. Our guide May created many fun experiences and wonderful memories, I really recommend May if you choose this trip!

Wonderful Tour of Shanghai with May - May took great care of my fiance and I on the first part of our honeymoon. I'm so happy that we booked this tour before exploring so we could highlight what areas we wanted to revisit later in our travel. May was very knowledgable and educated us on history in a totally unique experience. I felt safe on this tour the entire time and enjoyed snacks along the way. Great way to get outdoors and explore the city. So happy we got to connect with May!

Shanghai all Highlights on bike - Our guide Jenny was very customer minded and flexible. We stopped to get food and coffee when we got hungry and she kept in mind dietary wishes of the whole group (vegetarians). She knew a lot about Shanghai and its history and took the time to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your trip. It was very enlightening.

Shanghai must see bike tour - Still reminiscing of my trip to Shanghai with Bike China Tours as it’s surprises me in so many ways, the skyline, the food, the culture and people! Such an incredible city that I just wanna give a huge shout out with ❤💕. A must visit especially to meet the people who are shy in the beginning but some genuine with their hospitality! Thank you Bike China Tours and May (guide) for the wonderful experiences.

Great tour - May was such a fun guide! We had all different ages in our group and she kept it fun and engaging for all. We got to see much more of Shanghai than we would have walking around and May was very knowledgeable about the history of Shanghai. Great tour!

This was a wonderful experience... -
This was a wonderful experience! Vivian met us at the meeting point on time. Her English was exceptional. One of the things we loved was her willingness to talk about contemporary Chinese life as well as her knowledge of all the sites and the history associated with these scenic spots. We also went to the Former French Concesion and ancient city wall. We especially liked the tranquility of the Fuxing park.I have to say that Vivian went above and beyond and made our tour very memorable. This was one of the best tours we had in China all in all, The tour was well organised, efficiently run and very enjoyable. We had very high-quality bicycle and the whole experience was well worth the money! Thank you Vivian ,We would love to use your services again of course through viator.com

Absolutely Horrible - It's unbelievable that this was the same company that got such high reviews with other people. Our guide was the worst. A bit of background to preface: we found this company on Airbnb. A little strange, but they billed themselves as a group of friends. We made a reservation with them for 7 adults and 2 children, and were confirmed for a tour. But then we got a notice from Airbnb saying the reservation was cancelled by the company, and we were refunded. But then we received a SEPARATE email from Bike China Tours itself saying the reservation was still on, and that there was some kind of "server crash" on Airbnb (ok...?). They said it would be ok if we just showed up and paid cash for the tour. Guess they didn't want to pay Airbnb their fees. That should have been red flag #1, but based off the reviews for this company, we decided to give it a shot.
Communication beforehand was actually decent. And the bikes were new and in good shape. But that's where the good ends.
After a short safety briefing (basically telling us that cars will stop for us if we ride through a crossing), she rode off without saying a word at a very fast pace. For 10 straight minutes she rode, not once looking back to see that half the group was no longer behind us. I stayed as close behind as I could without losing her, but still within sight of the rest of my party. During this entire time, she was speaking on the phone.
After I decided to stop and wait for the rest of my group, did she stop and turn around. It took the group another 3 minutes to catch up, as she had ridden through multiple busy intersections with no regard for the safety of the riders behind her.
My wife was furious at this point and asked if she was going to stop and even point anything out or talk about anything. After 30 more minutes of our guide pointing out random insignificant buildings and repeating the same things over and over we'd had enough. At no time were there any "places to see" or anything food related. She tried to appease us by getting snacks for the group, but didn't even bother to explain what they were, why they're special, or anything else. Final fail. We learned nothing, and saw nothing. My son wiped out on his bike and was almost run over by a bus. She didn't even notice.
It's truly unfortunate that our experience that day was such garbage. And just to be certain we didn't mistake the tour company, this is a photo of us on the bikes. As you can see, same logo. So either this company is full of it, and manufacturing good reviews, or someone is using their logos and running poor tours. Either way, they have a problem.
If you're looking for safety and professionalism, Bike China Tours isn't it.

horrible and unsafe tour Do not book this tour. - It suppose to be a foodie tour , we had only one snack .
We had one bottle of water for a 3 hours lasting tour, by34 gr C. witch originally was a 4 hours tour
We had a evening tour and the bike has no lights, we are from Europe, we want to drive safe !
The speed and the way of biking was irresponsible, ignoring red traffic lights end traffic rules.
Our guide was constantly on the phone, no attention for her guests . Sometimes we lost our guide.
The information on the stops was minimum and a one way information . No discussion or time for questions .
The other guests, a English couple, supposed to do a tour with other stops , and also a Jazz bar, flea market. They where also very disappointed .
We booked the tour by getyourguide.com , they did a great job to mediate after complaining!!
The tour guide contact me at WhatsApp, they were very rude, and wrote me that we were horrible and bad people, because we were complaining.
