Your coach will pick you up from your downtown Shanghai hotel between 7:30 am and 8 am. If your hotel is outside the central area, please meet at Hotel Yun’s Paradise at 8 am. Punctuality is important as refunds are not available for no-shows.

Begin your adventure by traveling back in time to old Shanghai. Spend half an hour exploring the charming Old Street, with its reconstructed houses and souvenir shops, before your guide takes you through the Yuyuan Garden, a sixteenth-century masterpiece of Chinese garden design. Enjoy a cup of Chinese tea in a traditional Shanghai teahouse before reboarding the coach.

Arrive at The Bund by 10:30 am, where your guide will walk you past colonial architectural landmarks, sharing the history of this iconic waterfront strip.

Next, cross the river to the high-tech, modern Lujiazui. Enjoy free time to explore while your guide explains Shanghai’s complex history and its growth since becoming a free port in 1843.

Return to the coach and head to a local restaurant for a complimentary Chinese lunch. Relax and enjoy your meal for an hour before reboarding the coach at 1 pm.

Travel to Pearl City Market, a modern mall offering great value souvenirs, including pearls. Spend half an hour shopping before experiencing more of modern Shanghai.

By 2:30 pm, you’ll reach People’s Square to visit the Shanghai Museum, home to China’s finest collection of treasures, including ancient bronzes, intricately carved jades, and Ming and Qing dynasty antique furniture.

The next destination is the Old French Concession, where you’ll explore atmospheric alleyways with your guide and browse arts and crafts. Spend about half an hour more exploring this vibrant and characterful international district, which served as a base for foreign traders in China for over a century.

You’ll be dropped off at Yun’s Paradise Hotel around 6 pm, or at your own hotel by 6:30 pm.
