• Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre - This intriguing museum was initiated by Mr. Yang Pei Ming as a personal project in 1995. It now showcases posters from the Maoist era of communist China, particularly from the Cultural Revolution. Situated in the basement, it consists of two rooms but holds a remarkable collection of rare posters.
• Long Museum (West Bund) - Established by the Chinese collectors Mr. Liu Yiqian and Ms. Wang Wei, the Long Museum operates two expansive venues for exhibitions and related activities: Long Museum Pudong and Long Museum West Bund. Located in Pudong New Area and Binjiang, Xuhui District, they form a distinctive art ecosystem in Shanghai: “One City, Two Museums.” As the largest private collection institution in China, the Long Museum prides itself on having the most extensive collection in the country.
• Shanghai Auto Museum - The Shanghai Auto Museum, China’s first dedicated to automobiles, showcases around 70 classic cars and the history of both Chinese and international car models, including 27 vehicles that mark significant milestones in automotive development. The Antique Car Pavilion features 40 cars from 20 different manufacturers, dating from 1900 to 1970.
• Shanghai Museum of Arts and Crafts - The Shanghai Museum’s collection of modern arts and crafts includes velvet embroidery, embroidery, lanterns, dough, paper-cut, jade carving, dental carving, wood carving, lacquering, inlay, engraving, bamboo carving, porcelain engraving, fine engraving, costumes, knitting, craft painting, and more.
• Traditional Chinese Medicine Sculpture Park - Located within Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this museum houses nearly 15,000 items of traditional Chinese medicine from the Stone Age to the present. It also provides valuable insights into the history of Chinese medical education, tools, and other accomplishments.
• Shanghai Museum of Animation - This exceptional museum presents a captivating history of animation, starting with Chinese shadow play and extending to American Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The hall is adorned with movie posters, life-size statues, and film clips. The second floor is a haven for children and includes a commercial area. • Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum - Situated in the former Jewish Quarter of Shanghai, this museum includes the Ohel Moshe Synagogue. Following the 1937 Battle of Shanghai, Japan occupied the Chinese sections of the city, but this area remained under European control and welcomed 20,000 European Jews seeking refuge in Shanghai.
