Great food tour with wonderful introduction to delicious Chinese foods. - We arrived in Shanghai last night and our food tour has been our first ever experience of China. Michael looked after us so well. He was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us to some unforgettable local experiences. All of our food tastings were delicious and have set us up for our China adventure excited to try lots more delightful foods.

First night in Shanghai - Did this tour on or arrival in Shanghai. Forgot to let them know that my husband doesn’t eat Pork yet our guide Lucy was super accommodating. She found great food stops that we loved. The view from the Shanghai tower was the perfect ending.

Delicious and informative! - Linda was delightful! She met us in our hotel lobby which was very convenient for us since we just arrived in Shanghai and was not familiar with the city. She knew the area well and all the best places to go for delicious food, some of which were off the beaten path and we would never have found on our own. We tried steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, noodles, moon cake, lamb kabobs to name just a few. She even bought us fresh oranges from a fruit stand that I admired! We learned a lot about the area as well. We really enjoyed our time with Linda. The only complaint was we were too full to eat desert, but no worries, we got it to go and enjoyed it later in our hotel. I would highly recommend this tour and Linda as a tour guide!

What better way is there... - What better way is there to experience a city like Shanghai than to enjoy its authentic traditional cuisine? Steamed buns of different varieties, traditional pancakes, fish ball soup and the list goes on. I was smart enough to have skipped breakfast so I had ample space to enjoy these culinary delights. Lea was an awesome guide and took time to arrange an authentic culinary experience. Then great views from the Shanghai observatory tower ( don’t miss this) followed by traditional Chinese tea tasting in the old city. Five star experience with Lea. Highly recommended!

Best Shanghai tour guide - Our tour has been wonderful. Shanghai dumplings are the best. Annie is the best tour guide we’ve ever had during our trip in China - she’s helpful and kind, but at the same time very respectful and unobtrusive. Thank you Annie we love hanging out with you!

A fabulous walking tour of Shanghai street food! - We thoroughly enjoyed our evening food tour with Lily and would highly recommend this tour, and Lily, to anyone interested in learning more about the tasty delights of Shanghai. We met Lily at a conveniently located spot in the heart of the city, in the People’s Square area. She brought us to several fantastic spots in easy walking distance from each other. We tried pastries, dumplings, noodles, soup, skewers, pancakes and a very delicious desert. Lily was a joy to be with. She was excellent company and highly knowledgeable about the food and culture of Shanghai. There was a nice diversity of dishes, and it helped that we were able to walk around a little bit between trying food so that we could make it possible to eat more! We left the evening feeling very full and most contented. Taking this tour with Lily was a great opportunity to sample culinary delights that we probably would have been too under-confident to try ourselves. Huge thanks to Lily for a truly enjoyable and tasty evening.

Great experience and lots of food - Sunny was great and she took us to try lots of different foods. We started off with some crab pastries, stopped by a restaurant where we had noodles and dumplings, and then had lamb skewers and some scallion pancakes. By this point we were really full so we skipped the next stop (soup dumplings) and had some egg tarts and milk tea to go. Sunny also showed us around Nanjing road. We had a great time and I'd highly recommend booking with her for any of your tours!

Great tour with Linda who was very accommodating to a motley crew. - I booked this food tour for 7pm on the day we were scheduled to arrive in Shanghai at 3pm. Unfortunately our flight was nearly 3 hours delayed and after customs, immigration, and traffic we were more than an hour late for our tour. The tour operator would have been justified in canceling our tour and keeping the payment but Linda waited almost an hour and a half for us to arrive and despite food stalls cleaning up and closing down for the evening she made it work and even went out of her way to get my whiny kids bubble tea (not on the tour) and showed me where we would need to go purchase subway tickets when I mentioned that was my plan for the following day. Linda was beyond gracious and flexible and totally redeemed a frustrating day of travel and satiated hungry, grumpy kids. She also took some lovely photos for us at the gardens. If you’re looking for a custom experience with a flexible guide that runs on your schedule this is the tour for you.

Tour cancelled by operator and no refund given - My review is not so much with the tour but the lack of ownership in regards to a refund. My tour was booked through booking.com, not Trip advisor and was cancelled the day before the tour was to take place due to the guide being sick, which I can understand, they offered to transfer tour to another day but unfortunately I couldn’t make that work so we agreed to cancel the tour and Sunny Tours said they would refund me my money in 5-7 business days. It has now been 14 days with no refund. My bank and visa have advised me that no attempt has been made by any of the involved parties, (sunny Tours, Viator or booking.com) to refund the money for the tour. All parties have gone quiet and are not responding to emails. This review is more to do with making people aware that if your tour is cancelled you may not get your money back and not the quality of the tour. That I cannot comment on
