Zhujiajiao, a historic town situated in the Qingpu District of Shanghai, dates back 1,700 years and was once a significant commerce center for nearby rural areas. Many of its structures hail from the Ming and Qing eras, thus it’s often referred to as the eastern Venice. We’ve scheduled a picturesque wooden boat ride through its canals, steered by an experienced oarsman. As part of the tour, you’ll savor some delicacies unique to this ancient town. Once we’ve wrapped up in Zhujiajiao, the journey continues back to Shanghai with a visit to the Silk Museum. Here, you’ll trace the transformation of a cicada pupa into silk and delve into the rich history of Chinese silk culture and merchandise.
