The Feitsui Reservoir’s catchment area, encircled by hills, creates a distinctive landscape—a lake dotted with numerous islands. It shares its name with China’s “Qiandao Lake” (meaning thousand island lake) due to their similar appearance.
- Bagua Tea Garden - The natural landscape and climate around Feitsui Reservoir make it an excellent area for cultivating tea, including Wenshan Baozhong tea and Dong Fang Mei Ren tea. Bagua Tea Plantation is also located here. From the hilltop, the orderly rows of tea plants resemble the Eight Trigrams symbols, which inspired its name.
Visitors will pause here to admire the breathtaking views of the endless tea rows amidst the surrounding rolling hills.
- Pinglin Tea Museum of New Taipei City - The tour proceeds with a visit to Pinglin Tea Museum, housed in a Hokkien-style Siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard house), reflecting Taiwan’s traditional architecture.
The museum boasts a rich collection of traditional harvesting tools, equipment, tea sets, tea samples, and more, offering insights into the history and evolution of Taiwan’s tea industry. Additionally, AR content provides interactive experiences with the exhibits, enhancing understanding of Taiwanese tea.
