Amazing walk - Wonderful experience. The walk started right on dot. Ms. Preeti, our guide had good knowledge about the sites we visited. We were not aware of so much history around us although we had been to Shimla many times earlier. We got what was promised on the website. Ms. Preeti was extremely pleasant and helpful; she even gave us great ideas on other places to visit around Shimla when we come next. The co-ordination since our booking was very professional. This heritage walk is a must for those wanting to soak in Shimla's history away from the maddening crowd.

Great tour of Shimla with Preeti - Great value tour of Shimla. Preeti was a great tour guide and was lucky to be the only one booked on so had a one on one tour. Was also good to hear about life in Shimla as she has lived her whole life there. Stopped for a quick coffee as well in the old Indian Coffee House.

Super your at the right pace by a local guide - Our guide was excellent. He is a local so knows the area inside out. We started at the Church and then walked out way down nice and slowly past so many interesting things ending at the Viceregal lodge where the partition of India was agreed. The table where it happened is still there.

Despite visiting Shimla... - Despite visiting Shimla numerous times, I finally understood the rich yet under-rated place of Shimla in India’s history, thanks to Wonders of Himalaya. Our guide, Preeti, told us fascinating stories and anecdotes surrounding the iconic colonial buildings and establishments in Shimla, helping us appreciate them beyond the photo ops they provide. Preeti was also so sweet and welcoming and answered many questions about life in Shimla. It was truly a wonderful way to engage better with a city that I learnt is more than just the summer capital of India. Highly recommend that everyone takes this walk :)

Beautiful Shimla guided walk - We did this private walking tour on arrival, which gave us a great insight into the history and culture surrounding Shimla. Our tour guide spoke great English and spoke passionately about the towns historical links. He also brought 2 colleagues who were studying tourism. They answered our numerous questions on the tour and we also wanted to eat a local Shimlaian thali, so they suggested suitable eateries.  We are pleased we did the tour rather than wandering alone as we learnt so much more.  Shimla is a stunning place, (it is so very different to the rest of India) and the local people are very friendly.  Some locals even stopped us to ask about the UK and how we had travelled to Shimla.  We would definitely recommend using Wonders of Himalaya (Viatour) for your tour.
