- Rakuu-tei Kouichi Store (Kimono Rental & Souvenir Shop) - The Kouichi Store is a renowned kimono shop with a rich history spanning over 170 years.
Begin your journey at the historic tea room Rakuu-tei, nestled within the tranquil Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Upon arrival, the staff will assist you in choosing a kimono from a selection of seasonal designs.
Seasonal Note: From June 1 to September 30, yukata (a lightweight summer kimono) is offered instead of the regular kimono, allowing you to enjoy the garden comfortably during the warmer months.
The entire process—including reception, selection, dressing, and simple hairstyling for women—takes about 60–90 minutes. Once dressed, you are welcome to explore the garden at your leisure.
Please ensure you arrive by your scheduled start time. Late arrivals may lead to longer wait times as priority will be given to other customers.
Please be aware that the final return time is 5:00 PM. To fully enjoy your experience, it is recommended to book an earlier time slot.
The professional dressing team will provide all necessary items, including an obi belt, tabi socks, traditional sandals, and a Japanese-style handbag.
After your garden stroll, please return to Rakuu-tei for kimono removal.
