This shrine is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Shogunate, and is one of Japan’s most renowned historical and cultural landmarks. Alongside Futarasan Shrine and Rinnoji Temple, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as “Shrines and Temples of Nikko.”
The shrine complex consists of approximately 55 buildings, including 8 National Treasures and 34 Important Cultural Properties. Notable features include:
Yomeimon Gate – Referred to as the “Gate of Sunlight,” it boasts over 500 detailed carvings and is celebrated for its opulent decoration and exceptional craftsmanship.

The jutting rock face creates 12 smaller side waterfalls, enhancing the scene’s beauty. The red leaves of autumn make it an especially picturesque location.

- From November to December, the meeting time will be 1 hour earlier on weekends. The tour bus departs from Tokyo Station at 7 o’clock and from Shinjuku Station at 7:30.(Advanced 1 hour)
- Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure.There are many tour groups at the location, Late arrivals or no shows will not be refunded.
- You will receive an email the evening before the tour with important details, including the guide,driver and meeting point information. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder.

- On weekends, public holidays, or during peak travel seasons, traffic conditions may be affected. The guide may adjust the order of attractions,visit durations, or reduce the number of stops based on real-time conditions, Do not schedule other activities immediately after the tour as return times may vary.
- This is a shared group tour with guests from various countries. The guide will provide explanations in multiple languages.
- Please be advised that the vehicle arrangement will be based on the number of participants on the day of departure, ranging from the smallest 10-seat Hiace to the largest 45-seat tourist bus.
- If the participants less than 13 person, the tour guide will also service as the driver
