TAKE THE TOUR! - We had an incredible night with Yuki as our guide. If you are considering booking the tour do it. We learned so many things about Hapan and received great recommendations for the rest of the trip. We loved not having to decide where to go and really getting to enjoy the stops. We started with delicious food at the first stop, had sake flights at the next, and ended with all you can drink karoke. We loved singing with Yuki to end the night!

Great tour and guide! - We had a great time and enjoyed the experience. Once you pay the extra fee at the start of the tour, you get lots of yummy food served at the first place and lots of drinks at all places. Tomomi was a great guide and helped us find a club to move onto after the crawl was finished. Thanks Tomomi!

Exceptional tour with Toshi - The experience with Toshi was amazing. Her English skills are remarkable and she is eager to explain a lot about japanese culture. I was really happy to have her as a guide. Singing karaoke with her was the highlight of my tour ☺️

Chu! - IYKIYK - It’s our third time in Japan, but we haven’t visited the places included in this tour before, so we’re very happy about it. The trivia about the places and activities was fascinating as well. The food and drinks are amazing.

Anniversary drinking tour - Kei was an amazing tour guide. Super friendly and had fantastic recommendations for food and drinks. Was very informative on all the areas we walked passed, and had a lot of fun with her! If I could rate higher than ten out of ten I would!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Time or Money - Overall, this tour was disappointing. I wish I had paid closer attention to the negative reviews before booking, as the abundance of positive reviews overshadowed the 1–3 star experiences. After reflecting on our evening, I find that my experience aligns much more closely with those lower-rated reviews. I’m sharing this so future travelers can make a more informed decision. My partner and I were genuinely excited for this tour. We were hoping to meet other travelers and experience Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife in a fun, social setting. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was just the two of us and one other traveler from Israel, plus the guide. While I understand that the tour operator cannot control the number of bookings, starting the evening with such a small group was already disappointing. At the meetup location, the guide informed us upfront that we would each need 5,000–7,000 yen per person (about $40–$47 USD) in cash for food and drinks — this was in addition to the ~$40 USD per person we had already paid to book the tour. This was not clearly communicated beforehand, and it significantly increased the total cost of the experience. Our guide was a very nice, respectful young man, though a bit shy. The first stop was a chain yakitori izakaya. There was nothing particularly special about the restaurant — it felt like a standard, casual spot. Between the four of us, we ordered one edamame, nine small skewers, and five beers. It wasn’t much food for four people. Skewers ranged from 100–300 yen each ($1–$2 USD). The guide also ordered some additional skewers (such as chicken skin and chicken neck) that none of the guests typically eat. We didn’t object and just went along with it, but it didn’t feel very tailored to the group. The second stop was a small sake bar in Golden Gai for a sake tasting — four shots per person. The bar itself was tiny (about eight seats total at the counter), and the four of us sat together at the bar. We were not informed of the cost per tasting, but based on surrounding prices, we assumed about 600 yen (~$4 USD) per shot. The sake was excellent and honestly the highlight of the night. We stayed for about 45–50 minutes, and this was the only portion of the tour I truly enjoyed. The final stop was an “all-you-can-drink” karaoke bar. For 2,500 yen (~$17 USD), you could drink unlimited beverages from the menu for 50 minutes. You could also order drinks individually, but two drinks would essentially equal the unlimited price. I am a lightweight and was already feeling the sake, so I only had water at this stop. My partner chose the all-you-can-drink option but wasn’t trying to get drunk, so he didn’t drink much either. What made this portion especially underwhelming was that no one — including the guide — sang karaoke during our time there. The atmosphere felt awkward, and my partner and I found ourselves forcing conversation just to fill the silence. It didn’t feel lively or engaging at all. For a nightlife tour, it felt surprisingly dull. At the end of the night, the guide asked us to pay an additional 11,000 yen (~$73 USD) between my partner and I. Combined with the ~$80 we had already paid to book the tour, we spent about $153 USD total. For that amount, we genuinely felt we could have enjoyed a high-quality A5 wagyu dinner at a nice restaurant or curated our own much more memorable night out in Tokyo. We’ve booked several tours during our travels, and unfortunately, this was the worst tour we experienced in Japan. It felt expensive for what was provided, lacked energy and organization, and didn’t deliver on the promise of a vibrant nightlife experience. I’m not sure how this tour has received so many five-star reviews, but I sincerely hope future guests have a better experience than we did. For us, it felt like a wasted evening in an incredible city where time is precious.
