Shkoder - Thethi Valley

Theth National Park - The journey to Thethi takes you through fields of sage and lavender near Koplik. After passing these fields, the road ascends to an altitude of 1750 meters at the Qafe e Thores peak, where you can pause for a coffee break and admire the panoramic views of the surrounding peaks in the Shala valley. A few kilometers further, you will encounter the Edit Durham lapidary, dedicated to the English anthropologist who was among the first foreign tourists in the 19th century.

Tower of Nikoll Koceku - On the first day in Thethi, after settling into the guesthouse, enjoy a leisurely walk down the valley to see the Church of Thethi, its museum, and the Lock-in tower. Spend about an hour learning about its historical use in local traditions and the Kanun, the ancient local law. While exploring the valley, you can experience local life and visit any guesthouse or stop by a bar to chat with the locals.

Swimming Day at the Blue Eye of Theth

Blue Eye of Theth - After breakfast at the guesthouse, the guide will accompany you for a day of hiking and relaxation near the Stone Groves in Nderlysa and the Blue Eye in Kaprre. After a 1.5-hour walk, you will reach Nderlysa, where you can take a short break and refresh yourself in the crystal-clear, cold waters of the stone groves. The hike then continues for 50 minutes of moderate walking to the Blue Eye. Remember to bring swimwear and sunscreen, as swimming is possible at both sites. This is a full-day activity. You can order a lunch box from the guesthouse or enjoy a meal at a bar or restaurant in Nderlysa or Kaprre.

Thethi’s Waterfall and Return to Shkodra

Grunasi Waterfall - Begin the day with breakfast at the guesthouse, followed by a walk to the canyon and Grunasi waterfall in Thethi. This excursion can be completed in 2.5 to 3.5 hours, allowing ample time to return for departure.

Stay over in traditional guesthouses known as ‘kulla’, dine on local homemade and organic cuisine, and personally experience the warm hospitality of Albania.
