An Authentic Heart-to-Heart Over Egyptian Flavors - This wasn't just a cooking class; it was an invitation into the heart of an Egyptian home. Spending the afternoon with a local family provided a window into the local culture that you simply cannot get from a museum or a tour bus. The conversations were just as nourishing as the food—we discussed everything from daily life in Cairo to long-standing traditions, making the experience feel like catching up with old friends.
As someone exploring the vegetarian side of Egyptian cuisine, I was incredibly impressed by the variety and depth of flavor. We prepared and tasted several traditional dishes, including:
Falafel: Crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned.
Molokhia: A rich, silky staple that was fascinating to learn to prepare.
Okra: A savory stew that was pure comfort food.
Mahshi: These stuffed vegetables were a personal favorite—meticulously prepared and bursting with fresh herbs and spices.
If you want to go beyond the tourist surface and truly connect with the spirit of Egypt through its kitchen, this experience is a must. High-quality ingredients, wonderful company, and memories that will last far longer than the meal itself. Highly recommended!

Amazing and unforgettable!!! - If I could give this tour a 10, I would! It was amazing. Our hosts were the kindest, most delightful, and informative people. We cooked, ate, exchanged stories, and laughed for hours. The food was delicious and authentic. There are no words adequate to describe this experience. PLEASE don’t miss this! We will never forget our new Egyptian family!❤️❤️

authentic & delicious! - We had a wonderful time cooking and eating with Ahmed and his family. The food was delicious, especially the Falafel and the Hawawshi. We also cooked something I had never heard of, like Molokhaya soup.
The evening was filled with interesting conversation.

A must do :) - This experience was our favorite of all the things we did in Egypt! It is such a blessing to be able to see the city from a local’s perspective. We love that we got to build a real connection and ask questions about daily life. The class was private. I was worried about this because we had difficulty with getting an uber and were running late, our host sent us a welcome message through WhatsApp prior to departing our country and sent updates about the meeting place and what to expect so it was easy to give him a heads up. He was so understanding and accommodating with our late arrival and really made the class so special. We made so much food! We got to try all the well-known traditional dishes and they even sent us home with some YouTube links so we could try to make some of the dishes at home. A truly must do experience!

A « must « in Cairo - This experience was really great and should not be missed in any Cairo visit. We had a wonderful evening with Ahmed and Shorouk and felt like Egyptians. We cooked the food together and the atmosphere was almost like a family reunion. The food was three times as much for us but taste wonderful and we were initiated into « family recipes ». Finally we received a gift and were escorted to the taxi. Thanks to these great people !

A must do experience in Cairo - It was an honour to share a meal with this truly wonderful family and the 4 other people who were also in attendance. The food was amazing, the information provided fabulous and we were all made to feel as if we were indeed a part of the family. It was beyond excellent!

Amazing cooking class and cultural experience with a loving and welcoming family - We had a fantastic time with Ahmed and Shorouk. They were extremely knowledgeable about Egyptian cuisine and culture. They welcomed us into their house and gave us not only a fantastic cooking class but also an amazing cultural experience. I cannot recommend this enough!

Dining with a local family was so memorable! - Ahmed and family were the most gracious hosts to us as we felt like we were at a dinner party with old friends. We gathered in the kitchen to prepare and cook the food, learning about Egyptian culture at the same time. We were able to enjoy the food dining in the living room having fun conversation about culture and linguistics. Everything was absolutely delicious and it was a great start to our vacation!
