- Mutianyu Great Wall - Once at the scenic area’s parking lot, you’ll take an electric car to the entrance, followed by a chairlift ride to the 14th watchtower. Enjoy a leisurely 2-hour hike along the wall, concluding with a toboggan ride down. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, built and restored during the early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), is renowned for its unique charm. Known as “Out of all the Great Walls, Mutianyu stands apart,” this section offers a rich history and fascinating facts. Your professional guide will be available to answer questions and share exclusive stories about the Mutianyu Great Wall.
- Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Next, head to Beijing’s city center to visit Tiananmen Square, one of the world’s largest city squares, covering 44 hectares (109 acres). This historic site has witnessed China’s modern struggle for national independence. After exploring Tiananmen Square, proceed to the Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum or Gu Gong in Chinese, located at the heart of Beijing. It served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). Constructed over 14 years during Emperor Chengzu’s reign in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), ancient Chinese astronomers believed the Purple Star (Polaris) was at the center of heaven, where the Heavenly Emperor resided in the Purple Palace. The emperor’s earthly palace was thus called the Purple City, and entry was forbidden without special permission, hence the name ‘The Purple Forbidden City,’ commonly known as ‘The Forbidden City.’ Spend 2 - 3 hours exploring the Forbidden City with your guide, who will provide insights into the palace’s grandeur and history.
Beijing cuisine is diverse and delicious. Lunch is not pre-arranged, allowing you to choose your favorite local dishes with your guide’s assistance.
- Beijing Capital International Airport - After lunch or completing your visit to the Forbidden City, you will be driven to Capital Airport/Daxing Airport to catch your departing flight from Beijing. The tour concludes.
