Ijen Volcano to Mount Bromo

Ijen Crater - Wake up at 12:00 a.m. to prepare for the Ijen blue fire tour. Breakfast can be taken, and leave the hotel at 12:30 a.m. to Paltuding (Ijen parking area).

Prepare to climb from there with your private guide along the track at night for a 1.5-hour hike.

At the top of the mountain, you will witness the incredible natural phenomenon of the Ijen blue flame.

Once satisfied with the Ijen blue flames, taking pictures, and other activities, ascend again for the sunrise spot. While waiting for sunrise, you will enjoy breathtaking views from various angles of the lake in Ijen Crater, Mount Ranti, and observe Ijen miners carrying sulfur on their shoulders. On average, they can carry 70 kg to 120 kg per person, earning around 1,000 rupiah/kg, which is less than USD$ 1/kg.

After completing the Ijen tour,

return to the parking area to meet the driver,

then proceed to the Bromo area for a 5-6 hour drive.

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - Arrive in the Bromo area in the afternoon,

check into the hotel,

and enjoy free time.

Mount Bromo to Surabaya

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - Explore Bromo, enjoy the sunrise, trek, and head to Surabaya.

Get up early at 2:30 a.m. to prepare for a Bromo sunrise tour.

At 3:00 a.m., leave the hotel using the 4WD Bromo Jeep to Mount Penanjakan

(viewpoint 1), the highest peak in the region, to take pictures and watch the sunrise. From this famous sunrise viewpoint, you can see the highest mountain on Java Island, the Semeru volcano, which emits smoke every 20 minutes.

Once satisfied with the sunrise, return to the jeep, which will take you to the second location, Bromo Crater. The jeep will park 1 km before the crater of Mount Bromo. From the jeep parking area, you can walk up the stairs.

Next, on Mount Bromo, you will climb 250 steps to the crater’s edge. After that,

return from the crater to the parking area.

The jeep will take you to Savannah or the Teletubbies hill and continue to the last point of the tour, Whispering Sand.

Finally, the jeep will take you back to the hotel, where you can have breakfast, take a shower, and then be picked up to

head to Surabaya for a 3-4 hour drive.
