Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Often referred to as ‘Dracula’s Castle’, this hilltop estate evokes images of howling wolves and bats flying under the moonlight. Explore the castle’s Gothic chambers and discover its connection to Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire. Enter if you dare, after paying the entrance fee (at your own expense), and explore the castle’s numerous well-preserved rooms and chambers with your guide. Gothic furnishings and details enhance the atmosphere for the eerie legends of events that occurred here, including the imprisonment of Vlad the Impaler. This 15th-century prince was infamous for his brutal campaigns against invading Turks and is believed to have inspired Stoker’s sinister Count Dracula.

Biertan Fortified Church - The Biertan fortified church (Romanian: Biserica fortificată din Biertan; German: Kirchenburg von Birthälm) is a Lutheran fortified church located in Biertan (Birthälm), Sibiu County, in the Transylvania region of Romania. Constructed by the ethnic German Transylvanian Saxon community during the time when the area was part of the Kingdom of Hungary, it was initially Roman Catholic and became Lutheran after the Reformation. Along with the surrounding village, the church is part of the villages with fortified churches in Transylvania UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is undoubtedly the most-visited site in the medieval old town of the city, having once been the center of regional power. Throughout the 17th century, the citadel was continuously expanded, reflecting the increasing wealth of a center that exerted control over much of Transylvania and central Romania.

Muzeul Astra - Additionally, visit the Astra open-air village museum. Situated in the natural reservation of Dumbrava Sibiului, on the road to Rasinari village and Paltinis ski resort, 8 kilometers from the city center, the Open Air Museum spans a 96-hectare area, with 40 hectares dedicated to the permanent exhibition, which is the largest open-air ethnographic exhibition in Europe.
