Peasant Fortified Church at Prejmer - Originally founded by the Germanic Teutonic Knights, this church was later taken over by the Transylvanian Saxon community. Initially Roman Catholic, it became Lutheran after the Reformation. Together with the surrounding village, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of villages with fortified churches in Transylvania.

Black Church (Biserica Neagra) - Built by the German community, this is the main Gothic-style monument in the country and stands as the largest and one of the most significant Lutheran (Evangelical Church of Augustan Confession in Romania) places of worship in the region.
