Kandy Lake - Referring to it as a traditional Kandyan dance performance is somewhat misleading, as the shows are designed for entertainment and feature dance routines and costumes from across the country, including the renowned ‘devil’ dances of the west coast, which are rare to see in their original region.
Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Rising majestically from the central plains, the mysterious rocky outcrop of Sigiriya is arguably Sri Lanka’s most striking sight. Its near-vertical walls ascend to a flat-topped summit that holds the ruins of an ancient civilization, believed to have been the heart of the short-lived kingdom of Kassapa, offering breathtaking views over mist-covered forests in the early morning.
Royal Botanical Gardens - Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, the finest of its kind in Asia and the largest in Sri Lanka, is ideally situated. In the Mediterranean climate of Kandy, the gateway to the Central Highlands, the Gardens are encircled on three sides by a loop of the Mahaweli River, Sri Lanka’s largest river.
KANDY - NUWARA ELIYA - ELLA
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most revered Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room containing the tooth is accessible to devotees and tourists. However, the tooth itself is not visible as it is kept in a gold casket shaped like a dagoba (stupa), which contains a series of six dagoba caskets of decreasing size. In addition to the main temple, the complex includes several smaller temples, shrines, and museums.
Kandy View Point - Ascend the hill by Kandy Lake to reach Kandy View Point and enjoy an unparalleled view of the city. As a popular tourist destination, the area attracts many vendors, though they often sell substandard items. The area is also known for pickpocketing, so be vigilant with your belongings. From the hill, you can enjoy stunning views over the lake and the city.
Kandy Lake - Kandy Lake, also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, is an artificial lake in the heart of Kandy, Sri Lanka, constructed in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe next to the Temple of the Tooth. Over time, its size has been reduced. It is a protected lake, with fishing prohibited.

The country’s silver waterfalls naturally enhance the beauty of nature, and the favorable climate and soil conditions are perfect for the healthy growth of tea plants. Experience, dedication, and the application of correct technology, along with its natural resources, have earned Sri Lanka a stellar reputation for its tea, particularly Ceylon tea, worldwide. Glenloch tea is a significant contributor to Sri Lanka’s endeavor to become the world’s leading producer of quality tea.

It is situated five kilometers along the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. According to history, this is where King Ravana held Sita captive. An interesting feature of the temple is the presence of footprints by the river, believed to resemble those of Hanuman.
Gregory Lake - Gregory Lake was created in 1873 by the British-era Governor, Sir William Gregory, supposedly to provide electricity. However, the lake was primarily used for leisure and recreation after its construction. At its peak, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area and served as a relaxation spot for many visitors.
Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple - Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple was built by the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka. It is located in Ramboda on the Kandy-Nuwara Eliya Road, approximately 30 kilometers north of Nuwara Eliya on the A-5 route, facing the Kotmale Reservoir.
