Unforgettable experience! - Visiting Sigiriya (the Lion Rock) was an incredible and unforgettable experience. Exploring this ancient fortress gave me a deep appreciation for Sri Lanka’s rich history, art, and architecture. The climb itself is well worth it — from the famous frescoes and mirror wall to the breathtaking views at the top, every part of Sigiriya feels historic and awe-inspiring. Being able to fast-track with an advance eTicket made the visit smooth and stress-free, allowing more time to enjoy the site rather than waiting in lines. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sigiriya truly lives up to its reputation and is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Sri Lanka. I highly recommend this experience.

Overpriced and Dishonest! - We are a family of 4 and were very keen to experience Sigiriya. Viator were offering "Fortress Entry eTickets" and I naively booked these for our family. The great disappointment (we discovered when we got there) these tickets were grossly overpriced and a local guide was included, which we definitely did not want! When booking the tickets, a guide was never mentioned - if I had known, I would never have made the purchase!. Arriving at Sigiriya on the morning of our trip, we were handed over to a guide and were then duty bound to stay with him for a private tour. The guide was a lovely kind man and was doing his best to give us information and facts however unfortunately he was incredibly difficult to understand so all details were lost on us. Physically he also struggled terribly. My advice is: Book direct through the Sigiriya website, pay less and you won't be left with a Guide to deal with. Sigiriya is beautiful and unless you are interested in the history, a guide is not necessary. You can climb the rock and enjoy the beautiful gardens alone.
