• Sigiriya Craft Village - The Village Tour will commence at 10:30 am. Directions to the village will be provided, where the tour guide will meet participants at the start time. A brief walk around the village will be taken while the guide shares insights about village life.

The first activity will begin around 10:45 am. In Sri Lankan villages, the oxen cart is a common mode of transportation. Participants will enjoy a 15-minute oxen cart ride, concluding at the edge of an artificial reservoir.

Following this, a 15-minute traditional catamaran ride will take place. The area is rich with various aquatic and plant life. There may be opportunities to spot crocodiles or water monitors while gliding along. Cormorants and other waterbirds might also be seen. After experiencing nature, participants will be dropped off on a bank near some paddy fields.

• Sigiriya - These seasonal paddy fields, known as ‘Chena’ cultivations, rely on the two main monsoon rain periods that replace winter in Sri Lanka. Walking through the fields offers a firsthand view of paddy cultivation.

Participants will then return to the village to meet a local who will conduct a half-hour cooking demonstration on traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. This demonstration will also provide an opportunity to try cooking a Sri Lankan dish.

Lunch will be served at 12:15 pm, featuring a buffet of perfectly cooked rice with six traditional Sri Lankan curries and freshly fried fish. A green salad and crunchy papadum, a staple in many Sri Lankan and Indian meals, will also be included. Meals will be served on woven trays lined with clean lotus leaves, and the food will be prepared traditionally in clay pots over wood fires.
