Kilimanjaro trekking - The Best Kilimanjaro & Safari Company for Travelers from Canada and the USA – Kilinge Adventures Our experience with Kilinge Adventures in Tanzania was absolutely outstanding and truly unforgettable. As travelers coming from Toronto, Canada, and frequently traveling across the United States including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco, we can confidently say that Kilinge Adventures operates at a world-class standard that meets and exceeds North American expectations. From the first email communication to the final day of our adventure, everything was perfectly organized. The team at Kilinge Adventures showed incredible professionalism, punctuality, and genuine care for our safety and comfort. If you are searching from Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, or from US cities like Seattle, Boston, Miami, Dallas, Denver, or Washington DC for the best Kilimanjaro tour company, look no further. We climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilinge Adventures, and the experience was life-changing. The guides were knowledgeable, patient, and extremely supportive, always monitoring our health and motivation. The porters were hardworking and friendly, and the food prepared on the mountain was unbelievably delicious and nutritious—better than many restaurants we’ve visited back home in Toronto and New York City. In addition to the Kilimanjaro trek, we also enjoyed an amazing Tanzania safari experience, where everything ran smoothly. The wildlife sightings, accommodations, and guiding were exceptional. Kilinge Adventures truly delivers the best Tanzania safari and hiking experiences for travelers from Canada and America. What makes Kilinge Adventures stand out compared to other tour companies we researched in Canada and the USA is their personal touch, honesty, fair pricing, and deep local knowledge. Whether you are booking from Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Atlanta, or Edmonton and Winnipeg, you will feel confident and safe choosing this company. We highly recommend Kilinge Adventures to anyone from Canada or the United States planning a Kilimanjaro climb, Tanzania safari, or cultural tour. This is without question one of the best tour operators in Tanzania, and easily one of the best adventure companies we’ve ever used anywhere in the world. Thank you, Kilinge Adventures, for giving us memories that will last a lifetime. We will definitely recommend you to friends and family across North America and beyond

Excellent team. Highly recommend them! - The team at Kilinge was simply incredible. We were very lucky to have 2 excellent guides Fadhili and victor, who told us everything about the mountain, and successfully brought us to the top. The food was incredible and the level of comfort as well. We had a tent with chairs and a table and very warm sleeping bags. We clearly couldn’t have made it up the mountain without the excellent crew of porters too who made our job very easy. Thomas the manager was great too, welcoming us for a briefing the day before and welcoming us back after we successfully made it back down. His story is truly impressive, having started as a porter and made it up to build a very successful company. I whole heartedly recommend them.

Review of Kilinge Adventures – Kilimanjaro Trek & Safari (Written from the perspective of a tour organizer) - During our visit to Tanzania, we chose Kilinge Adventures to organize a Kilimanjaro climb and a safari. As a tour organizer, it is important for me to provide a constructive and honest review based on both the strengths and the challenges of this trip. Positive aspects Overall, the participants were very satisfied with the quality of services and the support we received during the Kilimanjaro trek. The guides and staff accompanying us on both the Kilimanjaro and safari trips were professional, helpful, and caring. The food during the trek was varied, tasty, and well prepared. Every morning we were served coffee and tea, which was a very nice and appreciated touch. At my request, a small birthday cake was prepared for one of the participants, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture. Throughout the trip, we were treated with respect and genuine care. During the safari, the guides made a real effort to help us see the Big Five — and they succeeded, which was a highlight for the entire group. I would also like to sincerely thank Gabriel and Tyson. During the summit attempt, one of the participants fainted. The guides reacted immediately, administered oxygen, and safely assisted her down the mountain. Their response was fast, professional, and reassuring. Communication with Thomas was invaluable. He replied very quickly on WhatsApp, answered all questions, and prepared an offer that was the most competitive and cost-effective among all those I compared during my research. Issues and challenges Unfortunately, the offer contained several errors that affected the overall quality of the trip. First, the hotel listed in the offer was of a much higher standard than the one we were actually offered a few days before departure. This caused disappointment among my participants. The hotel we eventually stayed in was lovely in many ways — excellent food, a warm family atmosphere, helpful staff, and a beautiful view of Kilimanjaro. However, the room standard was significantly lower than expected: cold water, low water pressure in some bathrooms, and only hand washing available, as there was no washing machine. Another serious issue concerned the number of dinners included in the offer. As an organizer, I need absolute clarity on costs when preparing a package. I specifically asked for confirmation and received written confirmation from Thomas on WhatsApp that only one dinner was not included. Midway through the trip, Thomas informed me that there had been a mistake in the offer and that three dinners were actually not included. The participants were aware of only one. We agreed that Thomas would cover the cost of one additional dinner and I would cover the third, which resulted in a personal loss of $140 for me. Tipping was another major challenge. Thomas sent me a tipping guideline for the Kilimanjaro crew, which totalled approximately $980 per participant. I clearly explained that this was unrealistic and unacceptable for my group. Thomas confirmed that tipping was voluntary, so I set a minimum of $100 per person for the Kilimanjaro crew. On the last night, the guide team visited us and Viviano presented the tipping chart again. I showed him my messages with Thomas and explained that my participants would not be paying nearly $1,000 in tips. We are not millionaires, even if we live in Europe, and we had already paid a very high price for the trip. Everyone contributed what they could afford. After reading online reviews, we decided to give the tips directly to individuals to ensure fair distribution, as there are concerns that porters often receive less than guides. During both the introduction and the tip celebration, 10 porters were consistently absent. The porters selected a leader, and we handed him the share intended for the absent porters, although it remains unclear whether those porters actually existed. During the final lunch, I was confronted by guides who questioned me aggressively about the amount of money given and accused me of causing a shortage, despite the fact that they had already received their share. This interrupted my meal and significantly affected the atmosphere, which was also noticed by the participants. This change in attitude was one of the most disappointing moments of the trip. Additionally, I was not informed in advance about tipping expectations for the safari guides and cook. Again, the suggested amounts were high, and once more I had to explain to participants that tips are voluntary and based on individual ability to pay. In Europe, tipping is generally optional and rarely exceeds 10%. It is not imposed or expected as a fixed amount. There was also one serious safety-related issue. The offer included three oxygen tanks for the trek. One of them, which I personally checked, was almost empty. Although it was replaced before the summit attempt, as an organizer responsible for participant safety, I believe oxygen equipment should be checked thoroughly before being taken from storage and carried up the mountain. Summary Kilinge Adventures delivers strong on-the-ground support, experienced guides, good food, and memorable experiences, including a successful Kilimanjaro climb and an excellent safari. The care shown during emergencies and the dedication of the field staff deserve recognition. However, serious organizational issues remain: inaccuracies in the offer, unclear accommodation standards, miscommunication about included meals, lack of transparency around tipping, uncomfortable interactions related to money, and lapses in equipment checks. These issues had a direct impact on both participant satisfaction and my responsibilities as a tour organizer. With improved accuracy in offers, clearer communication, transparent tipping policies, and stronger quality control, Kilinge Adventures has the potential to be an excellent partner for organized group travel.
