Great tour! Andre was great. - Our booked tour (with a different company) got rained out. Twin Island Excursions came to a rescue and we were led on an awesome tour by Andre. Andrew was super friendly - he seemed to know everyone on the island - and took us on a great tour.

Great Day. - Our driver was friendly and knowledgeable. We drove around the entire island, which was fun. We did not get to stop to shop but it was Carnivale, so that was out of his control. Watching the planes at Maho Beach was fabulous.

A great experience! - Our tour guide was awesome. He changed the tour around to fit our needs. It was me, my husband, and 4 kids ages 11-18. He was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. Our guide provided water and drinks for us. He made several stops along the way. I highly recommend doing all the stops he suggests and definitely going to airport beach. The beach can be loud with big waves but it’s a cool experience. When you get there buy a chair. Walk around and one of the beach places will eventually offer you free drinks with the chair purchase. You will love this tour!

Twin Island Tours - Do Not Use Them - I have used Viator for many years, with 100% success, but this experience was a tough one. First, Twin Tours did not give us proper meeting instructions, in fact, our local tour guide (Thelma) never reached out to me at all so we had no telephone number to call her. The map from viator showed a meeting point at the end of our cruise ship dock. We arrived 15 minutes early, but no one seemed to be meeting there, but we waited there for 10 miniutes before asking someone where the private tour cars pick up passengers.. We were sent to the large tour area, and quickly knew we were not in the right place. They sent us to the taxi area and said private cars often pick up there. No private cars. The taxi guys told us there was yet another spot for private cars and sent us to the EDC lot, which turned out to be the correct meeting spot. We started out 15 minutes early for our 9:30 tour, but by the time we found the correct lot, it was 9:44am, and our car had taken off with a couple from a different cruise ship - this couple had missed their 9:15am group tour, and twin tours sent them off in our car to try to catch up with their shuttle bus. A nice man named Lloyd let us sit in his van to stay cool. He then asked if we wanted to go to town to wait for a van. We declined and said that we would prefer to just wait for our tour guide.. Then Lloyd drove us to a gas station to meet our van, which still had the other two people in it. I asked our new driver, Andres if we would be dropping the other couple somewhere, and he said, “no, they are part of your group.” I said, that’s interesting, Lloyd said they missed their bus - the tour from their own ship. I reminded him that I had paid for a “personal tour guide” and was expecting that. He said, “no you didn’t… you paid for a group tour” - I showed him the confirmation that stated “personal tour guide” and he just “huffed” and walked away and got into the driver’s seat. I didn’t want to make a scene because I felt badly for the other couple - it wasn’t their fault that Twin Tours is so messed up. The other couple was super excited and told us that they were glad they missed their bus because now they felt like they were getting a personal tour. Indeed they were - our personal tour. So Andres took us by a couple of photo- ops where he let us stay for 5-10 minutes. Then he took us to our first beach stop which was supposed to be an hour of swimming and sunning. He drove through the parking lot, told us we could not stop and get out because the beach smelled bad, and that we couldn’t stay. He offered no alternative beach visit. Then he drove us to an awful touristy town full of tour buses and dropped us off to stay for 45 minutes to eat lunch and shop. We all ate lunch, got back in the car, and drove to Maha Beach where the planes take off and land directly over head. This was the highlight of the trip. It’s amazing how close the planes get to the people watching - 100’s of people crowd onto the beach to watch the planes. After 30 minutes there, we got back in the van and Andres started to take us back to our port. I asked him about the rum tasting stop and the Amsterdam Cheese and liquor stop, and the beach stop. He said that the other couple had to get back to their ship earlier than we did, but we could make a quick stop at the Rum distillery (15 minutes). Then we got back in the van, and he told us we could go to the cheese tasting, and that there was a beach down the street that we could visit, and then we could just walk back to the cruise ship. He said it was a quick 10 minute walk back to the ship, but it turned out to be a good 25 minute walk, and I’m a fast walker. So he dropped us at the cheese shop and that’s the last we saw of him. He took the other couple back to their shop, and that’s was the end of our tour. Andres had no idea what we were supposed to be touring, nor did he know anything about the places we visited. All he seemed to want to talk about was the price of gas… it was very strange. The St. Maartin Twin Cities tour was truly a “bust,” and I would not recommend it to anyone. Just hire a taxi driver and check out the area on your own.
