Best Sintra tour with Jose!! - We had the best time with Jose in Sintra! Not only was the value for this trip incredible, but Jose was a fantastic guide, providing us with a level of detail and insight we never would have had on our own. He helped to avoid crowds, got us good photo ops, had amazing stories, and helped us feel like locals. The whole day was full of laughter and good times, my fiance and I can't stop talking about the entire experience and how much fun we had. We would highly recommend this tour and couldn't speak more highly of Jose!!

Great Lisbon tour with Jose! - Jose was an amazing guide. We booked relatively last minute, and the weather was rainy, so he actually helped us adjust in real time to make the most of our trip and it turned out fabulous. He's very knowledgeable and fun to tour with. He drove us in a clean private car and made sure we had our tickets and entries into everything. Not having to be in a huge group was definitely a huge plus and time saver. We will use him for sure the next time we're in Lisbon!

Private Lisbon tour with Jose! - Jose did an amazing job organizing a private tour for us on very short notice. Also, the weather was not great, so we made some game time decisions to maximize our trip and have a great time without getting soaked. He has amazing knowledge and a fun an engaging style that makes the whole travel and sight seeing so much fun. A must book guide if your’re in Portugal. He also gave us great tips for follow-up adventures for the next day that were spot on!

Beautiful palaces, a Moorish castle & a grand home! - This was the highlight of my trip to Portugal (2 nights pre-cruise in Lisbon. My. partner and I were picked up at our hotel at the arranged time by our guide, who was also the driver. This was a private tour (just us), so we were able to walk at our own pace and rest as needed. We climbed to the top of the Moorish castle and then toured the colorful Pena Palace. We had time for lunch on our own. Then I toured the interior of the National Palace of Sintra (partner elected to skip this one). The last tour was Quinta da Regaleira, and I saw the inside of the house (too tired to visit the gardens). We were dropped off at our hotel by our wonderful guide (the best guide on our whole trip). She went with us everywhere and offered insights to the beautiful architecture. There was a lot of walking (challenging inclines, etc.), but this was an unforgettable experience.

See all of Sintra in one day! - We had an outstanding day with Jose as our guide! Attempting all 4 monuments was indeed monumental! Jose kept a slow but steady pace and we were thrilled to see Sintra so completely. If you can walk and climb lots of steps, this trip is not to be missed!

A Pvt. Tour with valuable perspectives and insights. - Jose is an exceptional guide, with outstanding knowledge and historical perspectives. Personable, and when he senses lightens the moment . We were hit with drenching downpour and he was flexible and helpful throughout our all day Pvt. Tour.

Master of logistics and well-read guide made a last minute tour of Sintra’s treasures both possible and educational - Jose brings a unique perspective from his life experiences. He is well read and in a lively and engaging way shares his understanding of literature, history, and current culture throughout the day. Intent listeners will be rewarded! On our “booked day before” 4-monument day in Sintra (no easy feat) he proved his logistical chops—using his network to develop a game plan, secure all tickets, assess travel route, where to park, status of crowds, etc. He accompanied us on tours of 3 of the 4 monuments, providing essential context, identifying the evolving nature of historical research, and identifying the most essential things to see (including unique insights from his contacts/research). He made sure we did not miss our 3pm Pena Palace tickets—knowing how long and steep the climb is—and whisked us to top of the timed-entry line, which we would not have done on our own—to ensure we could not only take more time to see all of Pena but also have time to see the National Palace. And he was able to get bathroom privileges at a very nice hotel for me at one Pont during our 8-hr tour which became and 11-hr day!

Sintra, Moorish Castle, Pena Palace & Regaleira - My visit to Sintra, Pena Palace, Regaleira and the Moorish Castle was nothing short of amazing and it was all because of our tour guide Jose Ribeira. He was on time all day, anticipated every need from thirst to bathroom breaks to meals and we NEVER felt rushed. In fact it was like travelling with a close friend. And knowledgeable? This man knew every detail about everything and everyone...a living history book! I would highly recommend him - Jose makes a tour come ALIVE!

Day tour of Sintra with Jose - Fun, personable, knowledgeable guide (Jose) who engaged with both the adults and the children in our family group. He does not rush the experience, making sure you get the most out of your day. We plan to return to Portugal and book with him again for other experiences (e.g., Évora). We have already referred a friend to him who is visiting Portugal in the next week or so. Highly recommend!

Get the most out of Sintra - Jose was amazing. He took his time but made sure we had time to see everything we wanted to see. The day started cold, rainy and windy but we pressed forward. We walked the moorish castle in rain and wind but somehow Jose made it fun. He had a wealth of knowledge which put everything we saw in context. From there we went to Pena Palace and Jose gave us more history and context, but best of all he linked the history of the moorish castle to Pena and Portugal as a whole. Jose made sure we saw and did what we wanted including a coffee to keep going. After Sintra the rain started to clear and we went into the town and had a quick bite as well as trying some typical Sintra pastries. On to the next which was Regalera. We loved Regalera and the rain cleared up so we had a beautiful time wandering. Again we learned so much history as to why Regalera exists as well as more linkages to the other monuments we saw. Our last monument was the National Palace. I recommend this palace to everyone. Jose brought all four monuments together into a beautiful historical package. Putting a bow on it, Jose brought us to an amazing port wine store where we tried Ginja in a chocolate cup. I highly highly recommend a private tour with Jose. He was a truly spectacular human!!!
