Sintra & Pena Palace - This tour was amazing spending the day with Eliano! He was a true professional but personal at the same time. He really knew the history of Portugal and answered all of our questions. We loved Pena Palace and downtown Sintra and when it was time for lunch, Eliano brought us to an amazing restaurant overlooking the ocean. I would highly recommend Eliano and this tour company. We were treated like kings and queens. Best tour!!!

A Magical Day of Palaces, Coastlines, and Adventure - Our Sintra and Cascais Full-Day Private Tour was one of the most unforgettable family experiences we had during our time in Portugal. From the romantic hills of Sintra to the coastal elegance of Cascais, this guided journey offered the perfect blend of history, nature, and fun — all made better by the ease and comfort of a private tour tailored to our family’s pace. A Smooth and Friendly Start Our guide picked us up right at our hotel in Lisbon in a comfortable, air-conditioned van — a big plus when traveling with kids. From the beginning, the guide was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made a point of interacting with our children, sharing fun stories and historical tidbits that kept everyone entertained during the scenic drive. Exploring the Enchantment of Sintra Our first stop was Sintra, and it truly felt like stepping into a fairy tale. We visited the Palácio da Pena, perched high on a hill with its whimsical, colorful towers and eclectic architecture. The views from the palace were stunning, and even the kids were impressed by how different it looked from any other castle they'd seen. Inside, the ornate rooms, royal artifacts, and detailed tile work gave us a real sense of Portuguese history. Our guide adjusted the visit so that we could explore at our own rhythm, which made a big difference for the younger ones who needed short breaks along the way. Afterward, we strolled through Sintra’s charming town center, where we enjoyed pastries at a local bakery — especially the famous travesseiros (pillowy sweet pastries) — and took some time to browse the shops for souvenirs. Cabo da Roca – Standing at the Edge of Europe Next, we headed to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Standing on the cliffs with the Atlantic stretching endlessly before us was breathtaking. The wind was strong, but the experience was exhilarating. We snapped family photos with the iconic marker and soaked in the dramatic scenery. Relaxing in Cascais We ended the day in Cascais, a stylish coastal town full of seaside charm. The kids loved the relaxed vibe and chance to play near the beach, while we strolled along the promenade and admired the elegant architecture. Our guide gave us free time here to enjoy lunch and explore on our own, which was the perfect way to unwind after a busy morning. Comfort and Customization One of the best parts of the private tour was the flexibility — no rushing, no crowded buses, and plenty of chances to stop for photos or quick breaks. Our guide adjusted the itinerary based on our interests and energy levels, which made everything run smoothly and stress-free. Final Thoughts This Sintra and Cascais private tour was a highlight of our Portugal trip. It offered a rich and varied experience — majestic palaces, coastal cliffs, charming towns — all wrapped into one seamless day. The personalized attention, family-friendly pacing, and stunning destinations made it a truly magical outing for all of us. If you're visiting Lisbon with your family, this tour is absolutely worth it.

Great Trip, great Guide - Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Goncalo Ribeiro as our guide. He was so informative with history of Lisbon and Portugal and his English was perfect. It was a great itinerary visiting the Pena Palace, Sintra and travelling along the coastline to Cascais which was very interesting with beautiful homes etc. Goncalo also took us to a Restaurant where we had the most amazing fish lunch. WE recommend this tour and give Goncalo 10 out of 10 for his guidance. Many Thanks Goncalo from the Colyer Family

Our tour guide, Luis Lopes, directed us to a nice variety of experiences and locations. He was a friendly and knowledgeable guide who taught us about the history and culture of Portugal!

Fantastic way to see sights and interact with a local along the way - We had a FANTASTIC day with Joao. He picked us up in the morning and was so kind and informative throughout the day. We booked the Sintra/Cascais full day tour, which is 8 hours. The Sintra portion will take you to any of the Sintra palaces you wish to visit — I do suggest doing some research ahead of time to decide which you are most interested in. We had purchased tickets for Pena Palace ahead of time, but Joao recommended two additional palaces — Queluz and Montserrat. We ended up enjoying those more than Pena! From there we drove to Cascais along the stunning coast, visited the beach and walked around before heading home. Joao was a great source of information and wonderful to chat with along the way, he took great care of us. If you’re looking for a private driver but time on your own to actually visit the sights, Amiroad was perfect. I was traveling with my mom (so, two adults) and it was exactly what we were hoping for.
