Great experience! - Our guide was great! She was so much fun, gave us all the good tips about good and drinks! We really enjoyed her explanation on our way to the castle, and the passion she has for the story is amazing! Totally recommend!

Full day of fun - Great little day trip! Did a lot in 8 hours. Be prepared to hike a bit but the view at the top will be worth it. We took amazing pictures.

Enjoyable day tour - We enjoyed this day tour with Joanna as our guide. It was a plus that she picked us up at our apartment so we didn't have to get to a central location. We had looked into going to Sintra on our own. After the tour, we were so glad we did not try to do it on our own! We had just the right amount of time at the Pena Palace and for lunch. Two stops on the way back made this tour stand out versus some of the others that go to Sintra from Lisbon.

A sharing of history, culture, great people and good food - We enjoyed a full day of sharing and laughter with ‘new’ friends from the UK and the US. Our tour guides were truly knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. Every ounce of the trip was exceptional - we learned about Kings, Queens, Countesses and Villians. The gardens surrounding the Pena Palace are a must see. As is the palace itself. We enjoyed lunch and pastries in Sintra. The drive to Cascais stunning and the views of the harbour so calming. Grabbed an ice cream for the road back to Lisbon.

Great tour with excellent guide - I would give this tour extra stars, if I could. Joo was just wonderful. There were five of us on the tour and we all agreed that he may be the best guide we’ve had while traveling in Europe. He was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. We went to Sintra and walked up to the Pena Palace through the gardens. A very easy “hike” and well worth it! Then we toured the Palace and took advantage of magnificent views. After heading back down, we drove to the old town area of Sintra and Joo recommended a shop to buy pastries. We loved seeing the town, but were happy that Joo suggested having lunch at a different location near the beach. After lunch, we went to Cabo da Roca, which was very windy but gorgeous. After that, we drove to Cascais, a beautiful resort town that made us want to come back and stay for a few days. We explored there for a while, then returned to the van for the ride back to Lisbon. On our way back, Joo didn’t want us to miss out on pastel de nata at Pasteis de Belem, so he stopped for us to pick some up! Pickup and drop off was at our hotel. The van was very comfortable and Joo handled the narrow, windy roads like a pro. We really felt like Joo was part of our family on this tour. Highly recommend!!!!

Knowledgeable experience - We had a wonderful time traveling through sintra. The place is truly magical and our tour guide had knowledge of the history of the town as well as providing history of the palace and its occupants. We particularly loved her knowledge about the gardens and felt like we had a good opportunity to see as many things as possible before heading to the palace. We were able to travel on our own time throughout the palace before meeting up with our guide and were given plenty of opportunities to capture pictures around palace. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and able to provide recommendations for how to spend our free time. The ride back was beautiful with lots of stops along the coast giving us ample opportunity to see other places and take pictures of the area. We felt like this trip was well worth what we paid, and our guide was wonderful.

Lovely One Day Tour - This was a perfect one day tour of several places, with the Pena palace being the highlight. We toured the beautiful and fascinating gardens prior to visiting the palace. Our driver and guide, Noono, was excellent with information and professional courtesy.

Enjoy learning about Sintra & Cascais - Nuno, our guide, was patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He gave context and background knowledge on the beautiful palace, gardens and areas that we visited. This is a great tour for couples and groups coming to Lisbon.

Interesting history - The park area below Sintra was lovely. Unfortunately, the weather was cool and wet. It was very busy even for this time of year but amazing story about the castle. While in Sintra, we managed to get in a visit to the Initiation Well which was also impressive. Cascais is a beautiful resort town.

Unclear and Unreliable Communication Before the Trip - I booked a day trip with this company to Sintra, and while the tour itself was enjoyable thanks to our knowledgeable and friendly guide, the communication from the company was absolutely terrible. Two days before the trip, I still hadn’t heard anything—even though they were supposed to pick me up from my hotel. I messaged them, and they claimed they had already sent an email. I told them I never received it and asked them to resend it. Eventually, I had to finalize the pickup details via text message. Later, I spoke with another couple on the tour who had the exact same experience. They were also worried 24 hours before the trip because they hadn’t heard from anyone. That made me question whether the company had actually sent out any emails at all. On the day of the trip, my guide was running late, and no one informed me. I started to worry I had missed the pickup. I texted the company—my message was read but ignored. Ten minutes later, when the guide still hadn’t arrived, I messaged again, and only then did they respond to say she was stuck in traffic. Overall, communication from the company was unclear, unreliable, and frustrating. That said, the guide herself was excellent—super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. She really made the day special. If only the company had matched her level of professionalism.
