• Sintra National Palace - Also known as Palácio da Vila, the Sintra National Palace was a residence for the Portuguese Royal Family. This monument, showcasing medieval, gothic, manueline, renaissance, and romantic architecture, is a hallmark of Sintra.
• Park and National Palace of Pena - Referred to as the sacred jewel crowning the Sintra Mountains, the National Palace of Pena is a prime example of Romanticism in Portugal. It emerges through the region’s characteristic fog with vibrant colors, resembling a fairy tale. The entire setting exudes an air of mystery and adventure.
• Castelo dos Mouros - Perched atop the mountain, Castelo dos Mouros is a fortification with walls that wind up the mountain between rocks and cliffs, dating back to the Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula. From here, enjoy a unique panoramic view of the town, the Pena Palace, and the surrounding ocean.
• Centro Historico de Sintra - In the heart of the enchanting town of Sintra, visitors can explore traditional Portuguese shops, purchase souvenirs, and savor regional pastries, including Travesseiros and Queijadas de Sintra. Snacks are not included, but a Ginjinha in a Chocolate Cup will be offered.
• Quinta da Regaleira - The tour begins with a visit to Quinta da Regaleira, one of Sintra’s most charming and iconic sites, rich in history and magic. Visitors can admire the architecture, explore the famous Initiation Well, venture into the caves, and wander through the magnificent garden surrounding the palace.
• Parque e Palacio de Monserrate - On this day in the romantic town of Sintra, visitors can also explore the Park and Palace of Monserrate. The Palace, influenced by Gothic, Indian, and Moorish styles, contrasts beautifully with the lush green botanical gardens that have been part of the “European Route of Historic Gardens” since 2020.
• Cabo da Roca - The next stop is at the westernmost point of Portugal and Europe, a symbolic location offering breathtaking sea views.
• Azenhas do Mar - (Optional) This picturesque village on the Sintra coast, in the parish of Colares, is postcard-perfect. The white houses cascade down the cliff to the beach, where an ocean pool delights visitors. Enjoy the tranquility this place offers.
• Cascais - Known as the Portuguese Riviera, Cascais boasts unique charm. Its streets are lined with traditional shops and restaurants, its beaches, and the 19th-century seaside palaces make it a must-visit destination.
• Lisbon - The tour concludes upon returning to Lisbon.
