Adjacent to the basilica, there is an impressive 3D reconstruction of the early Christian basilica by Edoardo Tresoldi. This structure, made of 14 meters of woven metal and weighing 7 tons, replicates the early Christian basilica at a 1:1 scale, complementing the magnificent medieval Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. This project transforms the entire archaeological site and was initiated by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities to protect the mosaic that remains on the original basilica.
