- Riverside Stables - Discover a serene and mindful exercise retreat amidst your busy travels! Join us for a unique horse-assisted walking yoga class. Participants will enjoy walking along our trails with an equine spirit guide, engaging in at least one horse-assisted yoga pose, and practicing mindful breathing with the horse while observing the light filtering through our lightly wooded trail system. Research indicates that a horse’s large heart generates a magnetic field with healing and regenerative properties, and simply being near a horse places us within this field, enhancing our sense of wellbeing. The class begins with a shared mindful breathing exercise with the horse, setting intentions to relax and rejuvenate. Designed to keep muscles warm, participants will walk with the horse from one setting to another for each restorative yoga pose. There will be ample opportunities to pet and interact with the horses, though riding is not included. Please come prepared for various weather conditions, potential insects, noise from the lively town, and uneven terrain as we explore our gently rolling trails.
