Pickup begins 15 minutes before the scheduled departure times. There are three different docks and town locations for pickup, so please be prepared to ensure a timely start. Stops are subject to weather conditions and may include waterfalls, historic sites, glaciers, alpine valleys, and stunning views. We will pause whenever possible to observe wildlife, which may include bears, sheep, goats, marmots, and more. Capture a photo with the “Welcome to Alaska” and “Yukon” signs. The Sled Dog adventure features a petting area for puppies and a Yukon Mushing expert who will narrate the life of a musher. The vehicle pulled by the dogs is a side-by-side four-wheeler that seats five, with space for two to stand in the back. This type of vehicle prevents overworking the dogs, allowing the musher to assist the team uphill and providing a good braking system for downhill, though the dogs do most of the pulling. Your guide will teach you how to pan and provide a pan with pay dirt for you to try your luck. With a little assistance from us, all our gold miners strike it rich and can take gold back to show their friends. At the end of your tour, we can drop you off at your ship or in town to enjoy our historic buildings and shopping.
