Following this visit, the journey continues to Kokino, passing through several villages along the way. Upon arrival in Kokino, guests will have the opportunity to view the 4th oldest megalithic observatory in the world, as recognized by NASA. Visitors can sit in the special stone markers used to track the movement of the Sun and Moon on the eastern horizon. Four stone seats or “thrones” are aligned on the lower platform. The observatory employed the method of stationary observation, marking the positions of the Sun during the winter and summer solstices, as well as the equinox. After exploring the observatory, the tour returns to the starting point for lunch at the local restaurant.
