9 am: Our driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby.

Proceed to a tour of the Yogyakarta Sultan Palace, including its museum and water castle.
Break
Continue to Prambanan Temple (except on Mondays) for a Prambanan Temple Tour.

Prambanan Temples - Prambanan Temple Tour

Borobudur Sunrise Tour

Borobudur Temple - 3:30 am: Pick-up at your hotel lobby.
Travel to Puthuk Setumbu Hill for a sunrise view over Borobudur.
Local breakfast
Enter Borobudur Temple and explore its intricate structure up to the peak.

Optional - additional charge: Dhagi Hill sunrise over Borobudur with a picnic breakfast, accompanied by a Javanese traditional music instrument, gamelan, performance, and storytelling before exploring Borobudur Temple. Plus, a Borobudur village tour with a traditional Javanese horse cart with our guide, after exploring Borobudur Temple, to enhance your cultural experience, extra USD 25/person.

Transfer back to your hotel.

Train Trip Yogyakarta-Surabaya

Gubeng Railway Station - 5:30 am: Travel to Yogyakarta train station with our driver.
6:30 am: Train trip to Gubeng Railway Station, Surabaya.
Arrive at Gubeng Surabaya around 10:45 am and be picked up by our Surabaya driver, then travel to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

Check in at a 2-3 hotel, hostel, guesthouse, or mountain lodge, depending on availability. Early booking is recommended to secure a good room, as there is only one excellent hotel in Bromo, while many visitors come.

Cemorolawang - Arrive in Cemorolawang, check in at a 2-3 hotel, guesthouse, or mountain lodge. Early booking increases the chance of securing a good room in Bromo.

Bromo Sunrise Tour

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - 3 am: Our guide/driver will pick you up at the hotel lobby or knock on your room door. Proceed with a jeep to 3 epic Bromo sunrise viewpoints: the usual Bromo sunrise viewpoint and two hidden peaceful (non-touristic) sunrise viewpoints; one requires a 45-minute hike, the other a 1-hour moderate trek offering stunning views of Mount Bromo’s crater. Perfect for those seeking a unique experience in Bromo.

Afterwards, visit the Bromo savannah, sea of sand, and if possible, meet the Tengger people, the Bromo natives.

Return to the hotel, have breakfast, and check out.
Travel to Bondowoso for the Ijen sunrise trek the following day.

Optional: After Bromo and before Ijen, travel to Lumajang and stay overnight for the Tumpak Sewu waterfall, a marvelous tiered waterfall, for an early morning waterfall trek, extra USD 85/person.

Bondowoso - Arrive in Bondowoso, check in at Ijen Resort View Hotel or similar.

Blue Fire Ijen Crater - Midnight: Check out from the hotel in Bondowoso and travel to Ijen Crater for the Blue Fire trek (only when gas levels are safe. If not, a sunrise crater trek will be done around 4 am. Our Ijen guide will inform you of the gas level situation in advance)
