HOHO bus stop fails - The options available were great and the routes take you to some fantastic tourist spots. But the one downside is you never know where the bus is going to stop. There were numerous times where we went to a certain spot mid route and it was extremely difficult to find which stop to catch the bus from as none of them are marked with a sign on either route. We even put our hand out for a bus on the south route in Marsaxlokk, at the stop the locals had told us it would go from, the bus ignored us and carried on, stopping a good 500 yards further up the harbour, meaning we couldn’t catch it in time leading to an hour wait for the next bus. It would be great if the company could at least mark the actual places where the bus stops to ensure others know where to wait and hail the HOHO buses in the future.

Tortuous, sounds great but is most certainly not. - The buses are so uncomfortable and take forever to get anywhere. Honestly you can be on these buses for hours to get anywhere, 2-3 hours was not unusual. Packed it in after three days and used public transportation, air conditioned, prompt and easy to navigate and the cost is cheap as chips. The Gozo trip is so expensive vs. The rapid ferry from Valletta, every hour for 7.50 euro, save the money and make your own trip. Biggest issue is the timetable or schedule isn’t a schedule at all in the afternoon as the drivers need to be back to base by five, so if you get on one in the afternoon you may not get to where you want to go ever. Given our time again we’d have not bought this for 99 euro each and spent that with other transportation, but at least we’d have got where we wanted in comfort. Like cattle herded into dilapidated sweat boxes of buses for hours at a time. One person behind us got on in Valletta to get back to st Julian’s on the red loop, ended up back in Valletta two hours later without getting off, this due to it being the afternoon. Another was on for a full afternoon!! We got off and got a Bolt back.

Extremely poor - Bus arrives far too late, drivers decide to go back halfway through the route directly to Valetta. No communication. Afrader!
