- Unirea Salt Mine - Situated in Slănic, Prahova County, Romania, approximately 100 km north of Bucharest, the Slănic mine is a historic salt mine. Although it no longer serves extraction purposes, it welcomes visitors to experience its unique microclimate, which offers natural air-conditioning and maintains a consistent temperature and atmospheric pressure year-round. The mine consists of two levels, named Unirea and Mihai. Many visitors are drawn by the reputed healing properties of the pure air. Throughout the mine, there are various recreational facilities, including playground equipment and ping-pong tables. A designated area is reserved for medical patients with lung cancer to rest and recuperate.
