Excellent experience.... - Excellent experience. Learned about the Plitvice history and ecosystem from our guide, Marco. The walk was long, but Marco was patient and ensured we went in a comfortable pace and let us rest when needed. Rastoke village was magical.

Had an amazing day! Both... - Had an amazing day! Both Rastoke and Plitvice Lakes are beautiful places to visit. Although there must have been 45 or so of us in the bus, our guides, Marko and Dino handled it all competently. Apparently, we walkied 8km that day but it did not feel long all. The views were spectacular throughout.

Late winter/early spring visit - Good experience during the end of winter/early spring. Less crowds but still a lot of visitors. There was snow on the trails and the trees and plants were still dormant. Cold and chilly weather, so dress for winter. The waterfalls were spectacular both at Rastoke and the Park. The snow was starting to melt so lots of water falling. Not much tables available for eating since not set up yet. This is a once in a lifetime experience for nature lovers. Be patient as a lot of people stop on trails to take photos

A good walk ruined - The park, it's waterfalls and lakes are absolutely stunning and well worth the visit. An absolute visual delight - hence the four stars. What wasn't a delight was being in a huge group of 50 plus travellers, being herded along like sheep and basically being told to get a move on. There were stages of the walk where there was no real view yet we seemed to daudle for no apparent reason yet when you are trying to take photos of the waterfalls, lakes and nature you are hurried along. Also being in such a big group you didn't really get to learn much. Rastoke was quaint but it could easily have been a 10 minute photo stop.
