This tour invites you to delve into Smangus, famously known as the “Tribe of God,” where you will discover a stunning forest of ancient red cypress trees nestled in the mountains. Unlike typical tourist paths, you will spend a night in the secluded Atayal village, immersing yourself in the genuine indigenous lifestyle and the welcoming local culture. During the journey, cross a tranquil valley suspension bridge, admire the impressive Glass Skywalk, and stroll through the charming Neiwan Old Street. Combining nature, culture, and soul-soothing landscapes, this adventure unveils Taiwan’s most genuine and captivating beauty.
- The itinerary includes about 11 km of forest hiking (round-trip, 4–5 hours), requiring a moderate level of fitness.
- Some sections of the trail are uneven or slippery, so proper hiking shoes are required.
- At an altitude of about 1,500 meters, the temperature is typically 8–10°C cooler than in the lowlands, so please dress warmly.
