The magical place - The best tour we have ever done. Finland seemed very commercial to us with mass tourism. Which is why we opted for Sweden, which in our opinion was even wilder and cheaper. We were so happy that we also did a snowmobile tour. Craig is a great person, friendly and has a great sense of humor. He took us to see the magnificent places. The kennel is also located in a beautiful place near the lake where you can take a walk in anticipation of a subsequent tour, so we did. His dogs are kept and looked after by his team with lots of love. Availability and professionalism are the strong points of this agency. If I were to end up in Kiruna, I would do it all again.

Navigating a dogsled through the night swedish Arctic - After skiing on Kings trail I got on this trip as a culmination of my time in the Swedish arctic. I drove my own sled in a night ride through a well-travelled snow path through a pine forest and across a lake under a full moon. The setting was other-worldly. It was a peak experience. Unforgettable. The huskies are highly spirited, barking and chasing the sled in front of them.
SnowDog Arctic Adventures is located well enough outside Kiruna so that there are no interfering city lights or structures. We were picked up from Craig R, the owner, came over from elsewhere in Northern Europe with a few huskies to settle in Sweden to do the real thing. He now has about 70 well taken care of dogs and a passionate staff.
I was a bit tentative about driving my own sled as there is a technique and you go flying along the path with fast highly spirited huskies. I spent time looking at videos on how to drive a sled that afternoon and felt comfortable enough doing it that night. I highly recommend pulling up utube videos if you’re thinking about driving a sled as there is a technique to avoid flipping a sled or tangling the dogs.

Wonderful - What an amazing experience. The staff were warm and helpful. We were picked up at the Ice Hotel, without issue. Prior to the ride, we had cuddle time with the pups. So cute. The ride itself was great. (Just be sure to hold on tight. The dogs love to run and they are always eager to take off.) After the ride we were given a choice of coffee or tea and cookies. They also talked about the dogs. Then we were dropped back off at our hotel. On a side note - they had warm clothes for you to borrow, if you wanted. It was warm (35F and sunny, so we were good.) And they are a dry bathroom, if needed. It was clean.

Unforgettable experience in Lapland. - It was an exceptional encounter. The staff members were amiable and provided excellent support, enabling us to have an unforgettable experience that will last a lifetime. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can highly recommend Snowdog and their prices are reasonable and staff provide exceptional services. In addition, they are flexible and allowed us to change the initial planned date as our train got cancelled at the last moment.

Dog love - It was most important for the kids to be able to cuddle with the dogs and to connect to some of them - which was a really nice experience as nearly all of them loved the human contact and it we got good guiding which dogs were more shy. We definitely fell in love with more than one of them and are still tempted to adopt one of them who doesn´t want to be a sledge dog... It felt like the dogs were in the center, not the money.
The tour itself was nice, to se the arctic nature closeby and from different perspectives, the clothes we got kept us warm. Thanks to all friendly humans and dogs!

Exceptional experience - Exceptional experience with sled dogs full of love and positive energy! the landscapes are absolutely magnificent and the team very professional and friendly.
We had already done it but the formula offered with snowdog is even better: a small group which allows you to feel alone in the immensity of the snowy landscapes: it's an adventure!

Very serene - Our group of three got picked up and driven to the kennel, where they had a warm room for us to put on overalls and gloves if we needed them. Then we got to say hi to the dogs and help prepare for the ride: one of us was standing on the breaks and one of us was keeping the leader dogs from running forward, because they are VERY eager to go! A kennel full of sled dogs knowing a tour is coming, is not a quiet place ;). The moment the dogs get to run though, every one is silent.
The tour itself was very quiet and serene, you glide trough the winter landscape, not a sound besides the sled against the snow. There are stops to take pictures, and our guide asked us if we wanted pictures of us on the sled, so we got those as well.
When the tour is over and you are back at the kennel you get to give "your" dogs treats and warm up by a fire with hot drinks and cookies.
No one at the kennel speaks Swedish, we didn't care but good to know if someone else does. Also, dogs poop. They poop during the tour. If you can't handle the smell, maybe don't book a husky tour: this one or any other company's tour.
The reason I won't give five points is that we left the kennel one hour early (on their website it says 10:00-13:30). I understand that times will vary depending on weather, the dogs and if there are any other issues, but an hour seemed like quite a long time, especially since we spent some time by the fire, asking questions. Other than that we were happy with the tour!
